Bio:I was born and raised a native of Laurel, Mississippi, and ever since I first heard music when I was a kid, I always dreamed of becoming a singer. I took guitar lessons during high school, but I was too shy to sing in public until my senior year, when my first band played in the talent show. After being in a few bands that never lasted long enough, I knew the only way to succeed in the music business was to start a solo career. I like to think of myself as a "late bloomer,” but I still, to this day, have no regrets. Music is my outlet and one of the best ways to express my thoughts and feelings. I like to have total control over my music. Most of my inspiration comes from my personal life experiences and lessons gleaned from the lives of others. I not only enjoy writing for myself, but also for friends and fans who ask me to write songs for them. I love challenges when it comes to songwriting, collaborating with other artists and experimenting with different genres. For me, being
