Ordinary Decent Criminal (2000) : His story's so stupid it's probably true.

SHITE! We messed up again. Turns out the film we were supposed to watch SPEAKEASY was part of some HBO contest/documentary series and not really a movie. We tried to give it a shot at 13 min in....we just couldn't take it anymore. So we roll again and we got  ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL from 2000. Brian Keith's portrayal of the alcoholic and excentric gun happy John McCanlis is something not to be missed. The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005) : March Madness - Saturday Surprises

If you would have told us before starting this podcast that a Shia Lebeouf movie about golf was going to be one of the best movies we ever watched we would have laughed at you.  This movie is DAMN GOOD.  Don't get us wrong it is long and about golf, two things we generally have zero interest in but there is just something about this film that makes it worth watching and another listen for this weeks Surprise Saturday.  

The Black Cauldron (1985) : March Madness - Friday Failures

The Black Cauldron from 1985 is often referred to as the absolute worst Disney animated movie. While we don't know if we would give it that acolade...it's pretty damn close and you can't have a Friday Failure without at least considering the Black Cauldron.  Come take a listen with us once again in the land of Prydain hand in hand with the most annoying dumb character ever...Gurgi. We certainly could have included this in one of Most Referenced Mondays but considering this was way way back in the early days we decided to include it in Throwback Thursday. Swiss Family Robinson is one of those movies that has so many things going for it...it's got badly executed cross dressing, men wrestling snakes for what feels like an eternity and the origins of YOU GOT ET UP!!! North Avenue Irregulars (1979) : March Madness - WTF Wednesdays

Two words...demolition derby. This is how this movie ends!!! Chloris Leechman in a demolition derby and it is one of the most WTF moments we have ever had on this show and we are here for it.  This week on WTF Wednesday we of course have to revist the North Avenue Irregulars from 1979.  

Hercules (1997) : March Madness - Top Chart Tuesdays

Who puts the glad in GLADIATOR!!!!! HERCULES!!!!! He certainly put the glad in us. This movie kicks ass. Kat already knew this but it didn't take much to convince D that this film belongs on par with Lion King, Aladdin, etc. This movie is seriously underrated, of course we would feature it on one of  our March Madness Top Chart Tuesday. 

The Monkey's Uncle (1965) : March Madness - Most Referenced Mondays

She was the Monkey's Uncle yeh yeh...she was the monkey's uncle whoa whoa.  We aren't sure what it is about this peculiar film that has us constantly making references to it. JK we do know...it's the song. The song makes this movie we awknowledge the movie itself is NOT good but the song still slaps this many episodes later. Revisit it with us this week on Most Referenced Monday as we take another listen to The Monkey's Uncle from 1965. Tron Legacy (2015) : March Madness - Second Chance Sundays

Another one we hope might surprise you. We would 100% give Tron Legacy a second chance.  Especially after later viewing the original Tron. Tron Legacy had it's work cut out to make sense of this world and to make it appealing for a modern audience. They definitely succeeded. This is one we think we may need to watch again. Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (1991) : March Madness - Surprise Saturdays

There are so many things that are completely nuts about this film that we really could have put it on WTF Wednesdays but we opt'd for Surprise Saturday for Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken because D was truly surprised he LIKED this movie and Kat was surprised that it holds up after all this time.  If you were a female born between 1975 and 1995 we guarantee this movie played some kind of formative role in your youth.  Whether it be fantasizing about jumping horses off of tall towers or about the male leads eyebrows....this lived rent free in your head and still does.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) : March Madness - Friday Failures

It's normal to expect weird shit out of Nicholas Cage but this Friday Failure is beyond weird. The Sorcerer's Apprentice from 2010 is by far one of the worst movies we have ever watched.  Has anyone actually seen this? Were you able to sit through the horrific acting that is Jay Baruchel (sorry Jay but you are REALLY bad).  We dare you to revisit it with us this week. Beauty & the Beast (1991) : March Madness - Throwback Thursday

We really could have re-released this under a Top Chart Tuesday but we opt'd for Throwback Thursday because this was still a fairly early episode for us, originally released June 23, 2020 and within our first 30 episodes. We look back on Beauty and the Beast with such joy and still will never forgive Disney with the absolute butchery they took to it to produce the 2017 live action remake no one wanted. The Parent Trap (1961) : March Madness - Top Chart Tuesdays

The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin from 1967 is something we reference to one another at least 3x a week.  It is so iconic in the history of our podcast not only was it our 2nd episode (be kind on re-listen) but we have a GIANT full size orignal movie poster in our podcast studio. It's THAT important to us.  This movie is WEIRD, ODD, FUNNY, OBSCURE. It is everything that we didn't expect when we started this project and the kind of film that keeps us going. With hindsight on our side we will admit over and over again that we were probably too harsh on this animated gem.  Oliver & Company is pretty dark on the spectrum of Disney animated feature films but we kind of like that. Those Calloways (1965) : March Madness - Saturday Surprises

Here's one that migrated straight out of left field and still has us mouths agape! Those Calloways from 1965 is one of those films we really were not expecting to like having no idea what it was and never hearing of it before doing this podcast.  For March Madness we think it's important to bring it to the forefront once again to try and get a few more people to watch it. In this weeks edition of Friday Failures we couldn't not talk about Country Bears. We aren't sure whose idea it was to make a film off of one of the absolute worst attractions in DisneyWorld was but here it is in all of its failed glory.  We are still asking ourselves who is this movie for? This was truly one of the first films to give us pause and say WTF is happening here...we look back on it with befuddled fondness and baffled admiration.  There are so many things about this movie that are inately odd but so many things that are just so perfect they were ahead of their time.  Would you think you would ever see a porno magazine becoming a key sub plot in a Disney film? The Lion King (1994) : March Madness - Top Chart Tuesdays

If you surveyed 100 people we would put money on it that at least 90% of them would list Lion King when asked about Disney Movies that's because it IS THE KING.  So when picking a first episode for Top Chart Tuesdays we had to just say Hakuna Matata and return to The Lion King from 1994. NOT 2019 for the kids out there that think that abomination of a remake is somehow acceptable...it's not.   Climb pride rock with us once again and enjoy the easy-ness and happiness that comes with revisiting a Disney darling. The movie of all movies. The Lion King. 

Herbie Goes Bananas (1980) : March Madness - Most Referenced Mondays

In order to understand the roots of the Disney Odd Pod we need to take you way way way back to one of the earliest episodes, Herbie Goes Bananas. Back then we had a different show name, we still used "quack" to cut out swear words as we were still under the dilusion that we were making a family show.  How far we have come! If you are new here...this movie is absolute CANON for us. Surprise Surpise! The Sword and the Rose from 1953 is the definition of surprise. The Tigger Movie (2000) : Ta Ta For EVER

This week on a shorter episode we bounce straight into The Tigger Movie from the year 2000.  Maybe the world would have been a better place if Y2K stopped this movie from happening. Some may find it heartwarming...we had a slightly different read on this movie that should have stayed a straight to video or extended TV episode viewing only. 

The Last Flight of Noah's Ark (1980) : We nearly get killed and you wanna open a Sunday school for the enemy?

God is my co-pilot and other stupid things people say when crash landing on a desert island. This week we bring you The Last Flight of Noah's Ark. There was some disagreements this week on several parts of this film. Is Bobby an annoying kid? Is this film funny? Would the animals survive? All these questions and more we unpack and try not to crash land like our friend Noah Dugan (LOSER) in this classic but little known film from 1980.

Jungle 2 Jungle : If you don't scream Matika nice.

We're finally back! The start to 2024 has been hectic to say the least but we are thrilled to bring you our first episode of the new year with Jungle 2 Jungle from 1997.  It's another Tim Allen special complete with grunts, awkward jokes, weird laughs and what 90s movie would be complete without the debateably hot but always bitchy girlfriend.  Come scale the statue of liberty with us and remember if some weird jungle kid is trying to give you a pot he's not looking for dinner he's looking for something else to eat. 

Santa Clause 3 : Worst Christmas Movie Ever? Yes. We say yes. Christmas Special Part 2.

We couldn't re-release Santa Clause 2 and not give you part 3? Would your life this holiday season really be complete without revisiting one of the worst Christmas movies ever made? We didn't think so either.  This week Tim Allen is joined by a uncharacteristically bad Martin Short here to make your Christmas dreams turn into nightmares.

In case you missed it last year once again we are revisiting some of our holiday films.  To be candid....we've been BUSY but we want to make sure to give you something to enjoy and holiday films are of course of the season.   Join us as tag along with Tim Allen in his search for a wife just in time for Christmas.  The Molly Shannon cameo is still one of our favorite moments in any movie we've watched to date. 

Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989) : "I hope your face ends up on a milk carton"

This week we shrink down to less than 1/2 an inch and run through jungle grass avoiding power sprinklers, scorpions and befriending ants with Honey I Shruk the Kids from 1989.  Will we make it back to the house and get back to full size or are we stuck in this miniscule life forever?

The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian (2008) : Is that supposed to be irony?

This week...Do you wanna make a sequel...but its really baaaadddd...It doesn't have any of the...charm of the...first movie they maddddeeee. You get the point. It's Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian from 2008.  

Gus (1976) : Ready Gus? Oich!

This week it's Air Bud before Air Bud meets Million Dollar Athlete meets Operation Dumbo Drop meets the who's who of 70s television...meets a terrible movie. Well ok we didn't mean to go offsides...but this movie is bad.  This movie plays like Russell Wilson and the Broncos are playing football right now in 2023.  But it sure is interesting to discuss and see where we both felt the opportunities were. This movie lives pretty high in the zeigeist of sports films but why? Can we figure it out or do we miss the field goal completely here? It's Thanksgiving so tune in now for our review and recap of Gus from 1976.  

Monsters Inc. (2001) : You didn't file your paperwork

This week don't look in your closet there might be a Steve Buscemi in a lizard suit in there.  This week we touch on all kinds of things (just not children because they're toxic).  From the amazing world of monstropolis to the height of Drew Carey's powers in the late 90s this is Monster's Inc. from 2001. 

Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) : I have no patience for kids! Especially runaways!

This week we return to Witch Mountain only this time, no power suit, no gang of charming crazy kids but theres a lot of animals to make up for it. We follow familiar faces Tia and Tony as they run from rich oil tycoons, charm animals, and make friends with a crochity old man.  Join us as we Escape to Witch Mountain from 1975. 

Follow Me, Boys! 1966 : "Holy jumpin blue-eyed cow!"

This week we're gonna take a scout hike through the woods with Fred MacMurray as he talks to us about our alcoholic dads and solves all of our problems. Complete with a baby faced Kurt Russell, sassy female love interests, and so many heartwarming moments. Let's all earn our next patch this week with Follow Me, Boys! 

The Fighting Prince of Donegal (1966) : Free? We're about as free as foxes gone to earth in a hunt.

This week England vs. Ireland in a battle of sticks, and knives, and horrible red hair dye.  We see the return of an unexpected actor, vastly underused Irish Wolfhounds and a trio of the horniest sisters we've seen yet.  Join us as we escape from guards and butcher pronounciations of many Irish names and places. 

A Kid in King Arthur's Court (1995) : Geez! This always works in the movies.

This week we follow a not so cool kid as he goes back to Camelot and shows us the most ridiculous tropes you've ever seen but in a weird way...not enough? We watch the romance of a very young Kate Winslet and Daniel Craig with the worst haircut we've ever seen.  Can young no-name kid from the future save Camelot from the only non-white person in this entire movie? Find out now! 

The Absent Minded Professor (1961) : I'm an American! See it?! My Credit Cards!

This week we find the origin of Flubber and we are left no closer to finding out ANYTHING about it.  A clearly older Fred MacMurray woos Nancy Olson or...forgets to? Either way it's awkwardness that can only be saved by non-sentient flying rubber.  And for some reason Tommy Kirk is a villian...but with no explanation as to how he becomes fred's closest confidant in the sequel? Why does Flubber only leave us with questions? Help us unlock them this week.

Cinderella (2015) : Have Courage and Be Kind

This week...it's another Disney remake with some changes, but it's still the same flashy money-grab that is Disney live action remakes.  The debate over is Lily James hot? Are lizards acceptable footman? Is the prince really just Rob Star part deux? So many questions to unbox in this weeks episode. Join us! 

Summer Magic (1963) : Oh Please. Not Julia!

This week a plotline thinner than a new england clam chowder or bathwater...but enough heart to warm your soul. Never has a film been so full of nonsensical songs and so empty of plot but at the same time so utterly charming. Check out Summer Magic from 1963.

This week we bounce around with Robin Williams as the most forgetful man alive....or is he the most forgettable man alive? This week it's the Robin Williams comedy hour disguised as the classic 1992 Aladdin. Encanto (2021) : Maybe Your Gift is Being in Denial

This week we venture to colorful Columbia to hop aboard the Lin Manuel Miranda jack-off train with a soundtrack of ADD rap/talk songs.  Do we make it to our destination or does the house fall apart before we open the door?  Find out this week with Encanto from 2021.

This week somehow a lovesick bear and a Mickey-fied Jack and the Beanstalk translates to Fun and Fancy Free. You're invited to one of the creepiest birthday parties you've ever seen so grab your woman  bear, give her a slap and find yourself scratching your head at the entertainment of days past. 

Hannah Montana the Movie (2009) : Life's a Climb But the View is Great

This week we enter a world of superstars, shoe stars with Tyra Banks, and so many tropes it'll make your head spin...or your overalls ride up.  Find out if Billy Ray Cyrus has weird Dad energy, if Vanessa Williams has clearance to remove minors from oversees and how do you really know you're in the montage? It's Hannah Montana from 2009. 

Robin Hood (1973) : Stop hissing in my ear

This week we steal from the rich and give to the poor but in animal form!  We discuss the origins of Robin Hood in unanswered questions, the unoriginality of Robin Hood as an IP, the absence of Merry Men and question the relationship between King Richard and well....everyone?  Join us as we revisit this beloved childhood classic, find out our take on Robin Hood from 1973. 

Third Man on the Mountain (1959) - A man must do what he needs to do; or he isn't a man.
