Things the weight room taught me...
I love the weight room. The weight room is similar to life. It is full of pain, suffering, failures, disappointments and setbacks. Many people avoid these things because the mind just wants you to be comfortable. If you want to build your body you got to break down your muscles but you soon realize the gym is much more than building muscle. Suffering is just part of the journey but we got to learn to embrace it. It will make us a better human being and you will quickly realize that life is much more than fame, vanity, material stuff. Things the weight room taught me : 1. Genetics don't matter 2. Embrace the Suffering 3. Stay Consistent. Have Patience 4. Its a lonely road. Program your mind to walk alone of this journey The weight room will help you improve in all aspects.
Fundamentals of building muscle
Building muscle takes a lot of hard work, patience, discipline, and sacrifice but if you follow these fundamentals you will reach your goals quicker. However, don't expect to see results overnight. Fundamentals of building muscle: 1. Lift weights - this is obvious, you need to break down your muscle in order for them to grow bigger 2. Eat protein - Protein helps repair and maintain muscle. Try to eat whole food to stay full for a longer period of time. Stay in a calorie deficit if you want to slowly build muscle and burn some fat. Intermittent fasting will help. 3. Sleep/ Recovery - The body needs time to fix and repair the muscle breakdown. People say you got to grind 24/7 but when you train you will feel even more tired. Only way to get the maximum benefits from lifting weights is to get enough sleep. 4. Consistency - Building muscle is a long process and will require to be patient. People want to see results overnight and when they don't dee the gains after 3 months, they quit. You got to push past the pain and keep going if you want to see changes in your body. Prepare your mind for war and your body will follow. 5. Progressive Overload - Each time you step in the weight room you are going to want to either increase the reps/ weights.... tension. Your body will eventually adapt to the weights so you need to keep tension on your muscles.
How to build lean muscle
Building lean muscle is not hard but does require a lot of work. The real question is what are you willing to sacrifice in order to get the body transformation you want. This is going to involve hard work, discipline, and a lot of patience. Don't believe the fitness industry and the 6 pack influencers who drive Lamborghni's because they are selling an image. The fitness industry is just trying to sell us supplements and most of them are taking performing enhancing drugs. Eat good whole meal foods, drink water, lift weights, walk, pray, be grateful, laugh, cry, think... Everything starts in the mind. Change your mind, Change your thoughts and you will change your life. Prepare mentally for the war against yourself because the road less traveled is where you will find your glory.
Recovering from gym injury...
Injuries are part of the process. Obviously it sucks when you look forward to lifting weights but you physically can't. The best we can do is try to prevent injuries with stretching etc. I'm 5' 10 and weigh 145 lbs and I've been cutting calories for the last 5 weeks. I started at about 156.4 lbs and have dropped 11 lbs with a cut of around 500 calories a day. I recently injured my thumb and I felt popping in my thigh so I took some time off to recover. Ive been running a Bulgarian inspired program for the last 4.5 months and it has got me to the strongest I have ever been. I have been focused mainly on squats and bench and my PRs shot up about 95 lbs on squat and 75 lbs on bench. Now with other activities I'm focused on I feel like the bulgarian program is taxing on my body because I started training martial arts and I already walk a lot. I still want to incorporate some bulgarian inspired principles but Im going start training a 3 day split(chest/legs/back) for about 5-6 days. I'm going start deadlifting again and on the days I don't deadlift Im going squat more. Injuries suck but we got to recover, heal, adapt and get back to work. I love this grind.
2000 Calories Full Day of Eating
I'm 5 ' 10 and 150 lbs right now. I started this cutting phase on August 3rd at 156.4 lbs. My maintenance calories are about 2,650 calories and I cut about 500 calories. I feel like this requires a lot of mental toughness because sometimes you feel hungry. Just remember you aren't starving yourself but you will feel hungry. In the morning I take krill oil and drink a tea with ginger, lemon, and turmeric and do intermittent fasting until my first meal which is usually around 1- 2 pm. Drink a lot of water because that helps with the hunger. This a full day of eating 2000 calories. Dont forget to do some form of cardio which can just be walking and lift weights.
Purpose over Pleasure
Many people don't truly ever enjoy their life once they become adults because they never find their purpose. Being programmed from a young age and being told what to believe in kills our creativity, confidence, and belief so we never actually pursue the real things that gives us satisfaction in life. It's up to us to realize that time is passing and each day that goes by is another day we can't get back so we might as well risk it and try to become what we want in this life. God gave each one of us a vision in life and its up to us to put in the work and create the blueprint in life. I would rather try and fail than to live miserable and with regrets.
Road to 315 LBS Squat
Ever have a goal that seems so far away like a 315 lb squat? Being a skinny ectomorph made me think reaching that goal was nearly impossible. Whats your goal? If you don't have a goal/plan you won't get were you want. When I started my weight lifting journey I didn't have a concrete goal but i knew I wanted to get stronger. Don't over complicate things because then you will never get started. Start small and you will build yourself up with discipline. That goal is going push on the days you want to quit. I'm slowly working my way up to a 315 lb squat. You just got to put in the work.
Control your breathing
Just put in the work. When you start feeling the pain or anxiety make sure you take deep breathes. The mind wants you to quit when the weight starts to feel heavy. Our bodies have a fight or flight response but if we breathe properly we will be able to think and react more clearly. If you want to get better you have to show up and do the same boring work. It's not pretty but the results will come. Here I do 220 lb squat x 10. Road to 315 lb squat at 155 lb bodyweight.
Pain = Growth
Pain = Growth. The sweat dripping down your face, that heart pumping fast, blood flowing through your veins, and that burn you feel on the last rep is whats is going to make you stronger. You are either going to grow from this or it's going to make you bitter. Learn how to control your breathing because thats how you manage that pain because it is only temporary. Once you make it to the other side you are going to be proud of yourself to see how far you came.
Why do you lift weights?
What's your reason? why do you lift weights? Your reason will push you during the difficult times. It will help you build discipline because when you don't want to show up it will remind you why you do it.
Grateful for simple things
Don't take your health for granted. People take the simple things for granted such as health, life, fresh air because we feel good. Never neglect how blessed we are and give thanks to the almighty because some people wish to be in your position. Always be grateful for your life because things could be worse. Some people wish they had the opportunity to lift weights while you are being lazy.
Video Games vs lifting weights
Video games are fun and addicting because they make our brain release dopamine and it makes us feel like we are progressing. You are the main character of your own life and this world is the game. We living in a matrix and its up to us to realize this and put in work. This is the first time I hit 215 lbs x 10 on the squats . I am 5'10 and weigh 155 lbs.
Building muscle as an ectomorph
Building muscle comes down to lifting weights and nutrition. Sometimes it becomes more complicated for people who are ectomorphs and are very skinny because no matter what they eat they cant seem to put on weight. I was always skinny my whole life but when I started eating more and lifting weights I started to see the weight go up. It took a long time and a lot of "failures" but now im weighing 171 lbs. As kids we all have dreams but we soon realize the harsh realities of this world so we give them up and adapt to society's bullshit. Sometimes we limit what we can accomplish because we accept others negative opinions about ourselves but at the end of the day we got to realize that we got everything inside of us and we are the ones who create our reality. If you are an ectomorph keep staying consistent because you will grow just have patience.
Don't let the holidays bring you down!
Its the holiday season again which means a lot of happiness but also a lot of consumerism. Many people are away from their families, come from broken families, or are just sad because the holidays aren't what you expected. Never let peoples social media bring you down because so many people waste too much money just so they can post pictures and get likes. Consumerism mentality is one of the reasons so many people are not able to get ahead in life. Too many people get credit lines just so they can buy gifts because they think thats the only way to show someone you love them. Black Friday was created by the rich so they can sell us junk. Also, Thanksgiving is a great day to spend time with family but dont forget the history behind it. It was created by the genocide of Native Americans and thats the reason I dont understand people who celebrate that day and then complain about our government. Change comes form with! Keep your heart to god, have faith, work hard and the universe will reward you with love and happiness.
Working out does something to you physically but even more mentally
Many people take for granted their bodies and dont get it moving. They enjoy watching tv, eating junk food and just not being productive but the body is our motor. The mind commands the body but if the body is not right it cant respond and do what the mind wants. Some people only workout for superficial stuff and muscles but they will never find happiness because everything comes form within.Working out relates a lot to life because it requires discipline and hard work. Many people make excuses and say they cant do something due to their circumstances but it all depends how bad you want it. Its better to try and fail than not to try and live life with regrets. Eventually you will get bigger, faster, and stronger not just in the weight room but life!
Find Your Purpose
God gave us all a vision and purpose in life and it is up to us to make it become a reality. Many people go through life doing what there told to do and never really do what they want in life. God made us all unique in the sense that if we want to we can make an impact in the world but many people aim so low that they never truly realize their real potential. People take mediocre jobs and get stuck living mediocre lives because they try to impress people by buying a nice looking car and posting it on social media. The truth that the car has 60 months of payments and people just want to be liked but the reality is there wasting money and time. The real question is how are you helping people by posting dumb superficial pictures. A real person will look straight through peoples bullshit but the truth is many people are stuck in the matrix. If you dont fit in and are trying to build your own shit so you can build generational well, continue doing that because even if you fail other opportunities will open up and you wont be a sheep doing what everyone else does.
School wants to see us fail
School is designed to break us and kill our dreams. School never teaches us to build our own business but rather be an employee our whole lifes. Most teachers don't get paid a lot and they teach the theory and they themselves don't do it. Thats why we got to move carefully because they will trap us in student loans. School teaches us that if we fail we are failures but every successful person fails their way to success. Sometimes we have to pass certain classes we don't need in order to move to the next step of our lifes but just remember it all starts in our mind. We are capable of many things in life if we work hard for it and have patience.
Never let them break you
The system kills our dreams by the time we turn eighteen years old. They break our dreams and goals. By the time we graduate school we are programmed to apply for a job and write a resume. Im not saying this is wrong because we can make a decent living if we choose to go down this path but I know there is more out in this world than slaving for the rich man. We were put on this earth to discover our passion and share it with the world. I know not everyone has the talent to be a singer or actor but we can live our lifes doing something we like. Now with the internet we can post our passions and try to build an audience. The system was designed to create soldiers and employees and the people who make it out and create a life they want are the ones who want it bad. No one is going to give us anything so we have to put in the work because they dont care about us.
Where is the love?
Many people confuse lust with love. A lot of young people get attached to a person thinking they are in love and going to spend their whole lifes with that person but in the end it doesn't work out. In my opinion love is showing affection, showing you care without any judgement to the other person. Love can be scary because we have to be vulnerable and open up to the other person and sometimes its difficult because some of us never grew up in a family who showed us love. Some parents culture was to be tough on their children even though they cared about their kids. I believe to be in a healthy relationship you have to have self- love. Many industries profit off our insecurities through makeup, bodybuilding, skin products telling us we aren't pretty if we dont look like the celebrities or instagram models. In the end we got to know ourselves or else we will end in a toxic relationship being jealous of our significant other hanging out with other people. Thats why its crucial to know what you bring to the table and have high self esteem.
Luck doesn't exist
Boxing is a tough sport and yesterday for the first time in Heavyweight boxing division, Andy Ruiz Jr of mexican descent became the first Mexican to win the heavyweight champion defeating Joshua Anthony who is considered one of the best. Many people were surprised because Andy Ruiz Jr. body shape is not the best and he looks like an average joe. He doesn't have any muscle tone but he has great technique. This goes to show that no matter what people think of you if you continue to work hard and have a goal any dream is possible. Some people will call it luck but dont see the years of hard work, sacrifice, and pain someone goes through to reach the top heights. I do not believe in luck but if it were to exist the same people who succeed create it.
Write Your Goals Down
Write your goals down and they will become a reality if you put in the work. I recently bought and built my home gym in the garage and I was able to hit 185 lbs on the bench press. I remember when I was in high school I was really skinny. When I was a sophomore in high school, I remember being on the JV Football team and I couldn't even lift the bar with the plate one time which is 135 lbs. The point is if you have goals and consistent work it will eventually lead to results. I began taking a weight gainer called Naked mass a month ago to take more calories but I still try to eat whole natural foods. One thing about healthier foods is that it is more expensive that they dont really have stores that sell their products in poor/ lower middle class. The system is designed to perfectly keep us stuck at the bottom because if you think of it living in bad areas causes people to buy cheaper foods that are bad for health causing damage to our bodies and draining our energy. The fact is that healthy food like fruit and vegetables make you feel better than after you eat pizza and ice cream in terms of how you feel. I know the junk food tastes better but the body has a harder time processing and digesting it. I want to congratulate every working on their dreams and to the students who have recently graduated from high school or college. This should only be the beginning of our learning but unfortunately for many college graduates, once they receive their degree and job, they shut down their mind and thats all they do but if you are content and enjoy your life like that, congratulations, keep doing you. Anything we want in life is hard work and we need to have goals to give us a purpose in life. I believe depression happens because people are unfulfilled and waste time doing things that dont make them happy. If we have goals, even small ones, that will make us feel good when we accomplish. This is all a mindset. Once we get our mind right, the body follows. Keep working hard because dreams doo come true!
Donald Trump wants to build a wall
Many people come to the States for better opportunities and a better life for their families. Now with president Trump taking shots at Mexicans and hispanics and saying he going to build a wall might make us think twice about coming. tHE RAPPER YG made a song with a Chicano rapper called browns and blacks detailing the struggles both races suffer in the states. African Americans deal with crimes on their own race, racism, etc. and browns deal with deportation, immigration, and discrimination among others. The United States has bigger problems to deal with but Trump is to busy insulting Mexicans. The states are dealing with gun control problems, abortion laws, healthcare issues among others. The system in the states was built to produce employees and soldiers and if we don't read books and educate ourselves we will always be slaving for the rich man. The thing about most Mexicans is that you will catch them hustling fruit, roses, etc. trying to make money while a white person will have a cardboard asking for change. Meanwhile, the white person says that browns are taking all the jobs but they don't want to work. This is the reason why I would never join the military in the States because I had seen a handful out on the streets begging for money. I would never fight a rich mans war. I would rather fight for my people, family and community to try to make a better place for us.
Social Media is Fake
Many people now a days do anything for clout. Whether vandalizing the homie Nipsey Hussle's murals or posting naked pictures of themselves twerking, they believe thats the key to fame and success. There is a reason why many people hate the rapper Russ because he speaks the truth and he exposes the lies that all these mumble rappers portray to the youth. People don't want the truth because we are living in the matrix and many people are fed up with the system that they look at alternatives ways to distract themselves. I believe we have to have a balance with social media because people rely on their pictures for self esteem and if they dont get the likes they believe they should it causes them to get sad and depressed. I feel many peoples vibes and as an introvert I focus on weight training and creating content. We got to be aware that the cute couple we see posting pictures on instagram can be fighting in real life and faking it on social media. My mentality right now is focused on self development and trying to make it from the trenches. I could never like mumble rap because I simply can't relate to it and thats why I listen to Nipsey, Kendrick, Cole, Russ, Meek because they speak on real life experiences that help push through. I have recently been listening to the song called A lot by 21 savage and my homie said its trash and mumble rap and even though I understand that he is considered a mumble rapper, the song is far from mumble rap. I read an article that stated that 21 has been getting more informed and conscious. Some people say Blueface is an industry plant because he blew up uickly so he might have had connections compared to someone who has been making mixtapes/ songs for years but who knows. We all got to continue grinding because its only up from here.
Rest in Peace Nipsey
Nipsey Hussle born Ermias Joseph Asghedom was more than a rapper. He was a man amongst boys who tried to help out his neighborhood. He grew up in South Central LA and hustle his mixtapes in his early days in the parking lot on Crenshaw and Slauson. He joined the rolling 60s gang as a young teen but always had the mind of an entrepreneur, leader, activist, businessman but it was his music that made his voice get heard early on. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, Nipsey was able to overcome many obstacles and statistics and make something out of himself. Nipsey's father had come to the states from Eriteria and Nipsey was always proud of his roots and heritage. Nipsey was my favorite rapper because of his mindset and how he cared about the people. I feel like anyone who had experienced hardships or struggles are the ones who relate to Nipsey. The sad part was that people only showed major love when he was gone but he will never be forgotten. The marathon continues.
Escape the matrix
Mike Trout signed a twelve year 430 million dollar deal with Angels and this got me thinking if only a few amount of people are able to live this lifestyle. Do we lack the talent that all the profession athletes, musicians, and actors have that we have to slave at 9 to 5 jobs. I feel like the system oppresses us and tries to keep us poor because they never teach us how to make money in school. The system was built to create employees and soldiers. We have to think outside the box and create and provide and not spend all our money going on vacation because we just come back to the job we want to escape from. Never let people bring down your dreams because they are bitter about their lifes and try to be positive because karma is real. Many people use tv shows, music, and video games to relax and forget about their problems but don't let it consume all your time without working for yourself.
The marathon continues
Hey guys, your boy Eric Brito is back again for a new podcast after a while. I've been grinding hard and I have no excuses for not uploading but I realized if we want it bad enough we will do anything. My boy Gary Vee said to document and not create because it is easier to create content. In this episode I talk about how many people rely on the government to take care of them and thats why a lot of people hate Donald Trump. I don't fuck with politics because they always try to opress the middle and lower class. In the education system they don't teach us how to get a bank loan, buy a house, or anything that has to do with improving our life. I realized that the system was designed to create employees and no business owners. Donald trump has insulted many Mexicans and that is something a leader should not do. Many Mexicans have sacrificed so much in order for their kids to live a better life. They came to a new country that was created from the genocide of Native Americans, enslavement of Africans and now they are trying to kick out the Mexicans. But now with internet, most people have an opportunity of creating something and building an audience and being successful. It is not required to go to school to be successful anymore but its harder. I learned that people who are rich and successful give more than they receive. It is a law just like cause and affect. If you provide a service to someone who needs it, they will in return pay you cash. My end goal is to break free from the nine to five lifestyle and be my own boss. I also talk about my favorite rappers, Grammys, and Nipsey Hussle and J cole.
Mac Miller's Death
In this episode, I talk about the recent rain that has been hitting Southern California. It doesn't rain here that often but when it does people get excited and their are more car accidents. As I was driving I was very careful because drivers aren't use to this because it is sunn 90 percent of times here in Southern California. I go on to talk about Mac Miller's death and how he was nominated for a Grammy for his latest album Swimming. Mac had always dealt with drug problems thoughout his young career and an example of that is his song God Speed. Many talented young artists have an image to portray and struggle with themselves. There is a club called the 27 club were many famous artists have died at that age.
Is Fouseytube crazy or intelligent ?
Recently fouseytube had an event called Hate Dies, Love arrives event and he stated that this event would end slavery a day after the World Cup. It was scheduled to have happen at the Greek Theater with over 5,200 free tickets given out. Fousey claimed that Drake was scheduled to appear but the event was cancelled before it even started due to a bomb threat. Fousey then stood on an uber driver car of a driver named Jose and talked in front of his fans. He stated that he would give this man named Jose 50k but soon after big new youtubers like Philip DeFranco made videos putting dirt on his name and calling him crazy and he had an argument with Sam Pepper at No Jumper studios with Adam22. I believe that fousey is just speaking what the laws of universe state. He talks about law of attraction and other things that those truly do help people become rich and successful. Whether it is consciously or subconsciously. I fuck with what fousey says because most people that call ihm crazy may not understand how energy and the universe works. If we change our freuency to match the universe, the universe will guide us. I later talk about the tragic death of XXXtentacion, were he was killed almost one month ago when he was leaving a motorcycle shop. He was robbed and left for dead. He may had a difficult past but I dont believe that gives other people the right to talk bad about someone who is no longer here. I never listened to his music but I noticed how he helped so many people dealing with difficult situations in life through his music. Even big celeberties like Kanye West and J cole posted on his death.
Climate Change is Real!
Many people don't worry about climate change because it is not directly affecting them right now. Living here in California is sometimes trippy because one day is cold and the next is hot. I believe this is the affects of climate change/ global warming because sea levels are rising, temperatures are rising, animals are become extinct and much more! Fossil fuels and raising cattle are the number one reason why this is happening. Our economy is based on fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are coal, oil, natural gases. Oil powers our cars and transportation while coal and natural gas power electricity. Humans are taking Risky measures to get these resources to sustain this lifestyle. Humans are doing crazy things like mountain top removal for goal Fracking for natural gas Offshore drilling for oil
Don't Let Sports Fool You!
Growing up as a young kid I discovered sports and I loved playing them! Sports is like life because it teaches about failure. I don't understand how the NCAA doesn't pay college players, most of them won't even make the league so they will never make the big dollars and the talented ones usually come from poverty. Sports are fun but we got to be aware that they were created to distract us from the truth. The system wants us to get a job and enjoy the entertainment so we don't start asking questions. It's a cycle and if we don't understand it we will get stuck here for life. Sports are great in my opinion it just depends how you spend your time. Skateboarding culture is fun too!
What happened to Kanye West?
We are taught how to think and feel. We don't know how to think for ourselves and Kanye West expresses his opinion. Free thinkers just want to uplift the people but are often misunderstood. Kanye West has is a genius and this is no different. I believe he is creating controversy to create buzz for his new single. Lately many people have claimed he has been in a "sunken place" because he is trying to open people's minds to what is really going on. The elite have kept us oppressed for so long that we are already conditioned to be dumb downed. Many people are sheep and don't think anything outside what we learned in school. The United States is a big business that just cares about money and controlling us because if we figured out the power we had, we would start a revolution and take down the elites in this capitalist environment. Every genius is always looked as an insane idiot until their ideas change the world. No disrespect to anyone or anything, just trying to keep an open mind to all ideas. Everyone lives their life based on their experiences and hopefully everyone lives a long successful life in whatever they do. Here I talk about how corrupt the system is and Kanye's latest "antics".

Introduction To Enlightened Culture!
This podcast is about entrepreneurship and mindset. My goal is to eventually create a brand were open like minded people connect and who are following their dreams. My name is Eric Brito and I'm 21 years old. I grew up in Anaheim California were most people I met didn't think outside the box. I soon realized if I follow societys rule, I will remain the same as everyone and will never be able to live out my dreams. This life is a game and we need to play by their rules. An example is taxes, the government heavily taxes the poor and middle class. The rich create jobs and provide so much value that they have loopholes. In order to be successful we have to first have the right mindset and then a goal. Without a goal we will not know what we what or how to get their. I want to revolve this brand round the mindset, skateboarding, hip hop, free thinker, spiritual niche. An example I used was J. Cole trying to uplift other rappers but they took it as a diss because they dont want to here the truth. Most people are sheep who do what they are told. I don't look down on anyone but at the same time I'm striving to create a better future for myself. In this podcast and brand I just want to create awareness and spread positivity.
