This September one of the premier USGA events makes its way to the Commonwealth, as the 43rd U.S. Mid-Amateur will take place in Central VA. Kinloch Golf Club will play primary host to the tournament, with neighbor Independence Golf Club providing support as 264 players will compete for this prestigious trophy. Prior to training camp, Holmes will be giving back to his community by hosting “Vaughn’s Way Community Day”, Saturday, June 29 in his hometown. Vaughn’s Way is a 501c3non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and providing support for men's mental health. The North American Sand Soccer Championships will be coming to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront June 7-9. In addition to being the world’s premier single-weekend sand soccer tournament, NASSC will also be celebrating its 30th anniversary as it welcomes over 11,000 competitors to tournament which will take place over 25 city blocks on the beach. Regent University based in Virginia Beach, began operations in 1977, and in 2016 the University's athletics department began competition with men's and women's track & field teams. Since that time, Regent Athletics has added basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cross country to its program and has competed in the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA). This September, the Royals programs look to take another step forward as it begins the exploratory process for membership in NCAA Division-III. A 3x WNBA Champion with the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm, Wright Rogers is currently the Assistant General Manager for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury. With less than a month to go to the 2024 Induction, we continue to highlight our incoming inductees with our next #HallCall episode featuring 2024 inductee, Paul Woody. Woody is a Virginia native and Virginia Commonwealth University alum, and over 40 years became the written voice for sports in the Richmond region. The longtime sportswriter and columnist for the Richmond News Leader and Richmond Times-Dispatch, Woody spent 40 years covering all levels of sports for the newspapers, winning countless state and national awards for his efforts.
Hall Call Ep. 083 - Craig Littlepage, 3-19-2024
The lead-in to the 2024 Induction continues with our next episode of the #HallCall Interview Series & Podcast. We'll be joined by incoming inductee, Craig Littlepage. In 17 years as Director of Athletics for the University of Virginia, he helped elevate UVA top ten overall athletics program in Division-I athletics. In that time, UVA programs won 13 NCAA National Championships, and 76 ACC Championships, the most of any ACC member school during that time. Littlepage and the rest of the Class of 2024 will be inducted April 20 in Henrico County.

2024 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Hal Nunnally, left a lasting legacy at his coaching stops. The Petersburg native had great success as a men's basketball coach at Tidewater Academy, and Randolph-Macon College. While illness prohibited him from playing sports, he became a true student of the game, and left his mark from the sidelines. On this episode of the #HallCall Interview Series, we will talk about that impact and Coach Nunnally's legacy with 3 of his former R-MC players, Paul Gartlan, Dave Meleski, and Reed O'Brien.

Jeffrey played basketball for Hampden-Sydney College, but his greatest contribution to sports came through his service with Special Olympics Virginia. Jeffrey retired from SOVA as the longest serving President in the organization's history, 22 years, and helped Special Olympics Virginia impact thousands of athletes and their families.

We are OFFICIALLY in 2024 Induction season! Join the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and its #HallCallPodcast as we catch up with 2024 Inductee, Jill Ellis. Jill's journey has taken her from the UK to Northern Virginia, to William & Mary, and eventually the top of the world as a 2x World Cup winning manager with the US Women's National Team (2015 and 2019). A successful head coach and manager at the collegiate and international levels, Ellis is now the Team President for the San Diego Wave in the NWSL. Ellis and the rest of the Class of 2024 will be inducted, April 20 in Henrico County, but the excitement is starting to build with #HallCall.

Portsmouth, VA native, and 2014 VSHF Inductee, LaTasha Colander Clark, garnered 8 All-American honors during her NCAA career at UNC Chapel-Hill, before becoming an Olympic champion, winning gold in the 4x400m relay at the 2000 Sydney Games. She'll join #HallCall to talk Olympic preparations, as well as her career away from the track, including her own podcast, Christ Talk.

1998 VSHF Inductee, Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, blazed a trail on the track becoming the 1st African-American woman to win Olympic gold in the 100m hurdles. Now she is making her impact in the community as the CEO of Multiplying Good. In her post athletic career she has highlighted the values and benefits of sports participation through numerous philanthropic endeavors. On this episode of the #HallCall Interview Series we will discuss her accomplishments on and off the track.

1996 VSHF Inductee, Lanny Wadkins, joined the #HallCall Interview Series to discuss the changing landscape in professional golf. With the PGA and LIV Tours fighting for supremacy, Wadkins shared his insight on the future of professional golf. Wadkins is a 21 time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 1977 PGA Championship. He is a 2009 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee.
Hall Call Ep. 076 - Jerome Kersey, 11-17-2023
2008 VSHF Inductee, Jerome Kersey, rose from humble beginnings in Clarksville, VA to become an NBA Champion. Through his time growing up in Clarksville to attending college at Longwood, and NBA stops with Portland, Golden State, LA Lakers, Seattle, San Antonio, and Milwaukee, Kersey made an impact on many of the people he came across. While he sadly passed away in 2015, his life is remembered through the recent book “Jerome Kersey: Overcoming the Odds”, by 6x Oregon Sportswriter of the Year, Kerry Eggers. On this episode of #HallCall, we will catch up with two people impacted by Kersey, Rohn Brown and Bryan Kersey, both of whom were at Longwood during Jerome Kersey’s 4 years on campus.

1998 VSHF Inductee, George Allen, is the only head coach in NFL history with at least 10 seasons in charge on the sidelines to not experience a losing season. The 2002 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee had a tenacity that led him from small colleges to the NFL. Now his life and journey have been chronicled in the new book, "George Allen: A Football Life". Roanoke native and 2014 VSHF Inductee, Ronde Barber, was a cornerstone on defense for both the University of Virginia and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The ACC Freshman of the Year, and 3x All-ACC, went on to become a 3x 1st Team All-Pro, 5x Pro Bowl Selection, and member of the NFL’s All-2000’s Team. Now 11 years after his retirement he will receive the highest honor from the league when he is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, August 5. A member of the Super Bowl XXXIV Champion St. Louis Rams, Bly has now taken his talents to the sidelines. Hall Call Ep. 069 - Sheila Trice - Myers, 3 - 27 - 2023
2023 VSHF inductee, Sheila Trice-Myers, has a resume that is unmatched in NCAA Division-III history. The Louisa County native and Christopher Newport University alumnus earned 30 All-American honors, won 23 conference championships, and 15 national championships during her time with the Captains Track & Field program. Among her accolades she is one of only two competitors, Jesse Owens being the other, to win 4 national championships in different events at a single NCAA championship. Her 55-meter dash record, set in 1989, still stands to this day. Trice-Myers will join us on the #HallCall Interview Series to discuss her career, and upcoming induction into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
Hall Call Ep. 068 - Bob Rotanz, 3 - 24 - 2023
2023 VSHF inductee, Bob Rotanz, is one of just two players in Roanoke College Men’s Lacrosse history to win National Player of the Year honors, a feat he accomplished in 1978. That same season, Rotanz also took home National Defensive Player of the Year honors, and helped lead the Maroons to the NCAA D-II National Championship, scoring the winning goal in a 14-13 victory over Hobart College. The New York native has since made his home in Southwest Virginia, and his commitment to his community and alma mater have seen him receive the Roanoke College Medal, the highest achievement for Maroon alumni. Ford Legends Award for his continuing commitment to his alma mater and many other philanthropic endeavors. 2023 VSHF Inductee 2023 Shawn Moore, is a Virginia football legend. Coming out of Martinsville on the Southside of Virginia, Moore, would go on to set dozens of school, conference, and NCAA records at quarterback for the University of Virginia football program. The 1990 ACC Player of the Year and Heisman Trophy finalist became "one of the most important recruits in UVA Football history" according to Hall of Fame Coach George Welsh. This April, Moore adds Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee to that resume.

Whether it was Powell Valley High School, the University of Virginia, or the National Football League, 2018 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Thomas Jones, knew how to run the football. The record setting running back from Big Stone Gap, VA is one of just thirty-one players in NFL history to rush for over 10,000 yards. 11-years removed from a stellar NFL career, Jones is now tackling life after football and putting a spotlight on the challenges and change in mindset many of his peers face once their playing days are over. Jones has served as Executive Producer on Amazon Prime’s “Life After” docuseries, which follows twelve retired NFL players as they face a new chapter of their lives following their professional football careers. The 8-part series premiered on October 18 and tackles many topics such as mental health and identity struggles, all while showing the strength of the human spirit. Jones joined the #HallCall Interview Series to discuss the series, and his own transition away from the playing field.

Apple TV+ hit series, “Ted Lasso”, tells the tale of an American college football coach transitioning to English football, when he takes the reigns of AFC Richmond. The series has become a critical and commercial success through 2-seasons with its combination of humor and storytelling. While the series has gained notoriety around the world, a group of Richmond (VA) based businesses want to bring AFC Richmond to the capital of the Commonwealth. The 288 Group along with The Richmond Kickers, Virginia Film Office, Richmond Region Tourism, and Virginia Tourism Corporation, are pitching the creators of Ted Lasso, on a unique exhibition featuring the hometown Kickers and AFC Richmond. On the next edition of the #HallCall Interview Series, we’ll catch up with representatives from the Richmond, VA group including VSHF inductee, Rob Ukrop, Brian Edmonds from The 288 Group, and former broadcaster Jon Laaser, to learn more on the development of this idea, and how they hope to get Richmond vs AFC Richmond on the pitch.

Ducibella was named Virginia Sportswriter of the Year 6-times during his time with the Virginian-Pilot. Known for his extensive coverage of the Washington Commanders and golf, Ducibella can provide perspective on both as they find themselves entrenched in the current news cycle. The Commanders find themselves embroiled in continuous scandal as they look to find a home for a new stadium, and the sport of golf has been turned upside down as LIV vs PGA takes center stage.
Hall Call Ep. 057 - Pat Montgomery, 7 - 7-2022
The Hall Call Interview Series returned in July, with baseball as the focus! The game of baseball is known as the national pastime, but here in Virginia current interest is extremely high. Over the past two decades, MLB fields have been filled with players that call the Commonwealth home, and for a group of players from Hampton Roads, they all have one thing in common, coach Towny Townsend. Townsend, an elite prospect once himself, used a combination of unique viewpoints and methods to develop a golden generation of baseball stars. The Splendid 6 as they became known, would go on to play in over 8,000 games and receive 15 All-Star nods. Townsend passed away in 2007, but his legacy lives on through the Splendid 6: Michael Cuddyer, David Wright, Ryan Zimmerman, Mark Reynolds, B.J. and Justin Upton. On this edition of the Hall Call Interview Series, we catch-up with Pat Montgomery, author of the new book The Baseball Miracle of the Splendid 6 and Towny Townsend.

As we look ahead to 2022 Induction Weekend, our next edition of the #HallCall Interview Series will feature one of our Class of 2022 inductees, Jon Lugbill. Lugbill is a legend and pioneer in the whitewater canoe slalom discipline. Out of Oakton High School in Northern Virginia, Lugbill is the only paddler ever to win 12 World Championship gold medals in the sports. The University of Virginia graduate is not only considered to be the best paddler ever, but also one of its greatest innovators through his boat design work which revolutionized the sport of slalom racing.
Hall Call Ep. 055 - Anthony Poindexter 3 - 17 - 2022
2022 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Anthony Poindexter, is widely known as one of the best football talents to come out of the Commonwealth. The Forest, VA native was a dominant force for both Jefferson Forest High School and the University of Virginia. While injuries may have derailed further accolades, the 3x All-ACC selection will be recognized by the official sports Hall of Fame for the Commonwealth of Virginia this coming April. The current Co-Defensive Coordinator for Penn State Football will join #HallCall and look ahead to the upcoming induction.
Hall Call Ep. 054 - Maia Chaka 3 - 14 - 2022
Maia Chaka made history prior to the 2021 NFL season, when she became the first African-American woman hired as an on-field official for NFL games. The Norfolk State University graduate began her climb to the NFL in 2007 by officiating high school games, eventually making her way to NCAA Division-I fields, and ultimately NFL stadiums. When she is not making split second decisions on the football field, she is back home in Hampton Roads molding young minds with An Achievable Dream Academy. Chaka will join #HallCall to talk about her first year with the NFL and her continued commitment to community.
Hall Call Ep. 053 - Adonis Lattimore 3 - 2-2022
Last week, Landstown High School wrestler Adonis Lattimore captured the VHSL Class 6 State Wrestling championship at the 106-lb weight division. A state championship is an amazing accomplishment on its own, but doing so without the use of legs is a feat unto itself. Lattimore was born without a left leg, a partial right leg, and only one finger on his right hand yet still found a way to hone a skill that led him to the top of the podium. Lattimore and his coach James Sanderlin will join the #HallCall Interview Series to discuss his journey to the state championship.
Hall Call Ep. 052 - Sonny Allen 1 - 20 - 2022
2022 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Sonny Allen, was a champion on and off the basketball court. As head coach of Old Dominion University Men's Basketball for 10 seasons, he led the Monarchs to countless victories and a 1975 NCAA Division-II Championship. Off the court, he advocated for social change in college athletics, helping to desegregate college sports in Virginia. Allen passed away in 2020, but his legacy lives on as he gains induction into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame this coming April. His son, Billy Allen, and Harry Minium from Old Dominion University joined the #HallCall Interview Series to discuss Coach Allen's life and legacy.

The college sports landscape in Virginia changed dramatically in 2021. An All-Southeastern District performer at Indian River High School, Painter then became a key contributor for Old Dominion University Women's Basketball in the mid-teens. Painter has been selected to officiate NBA G-League and NCAA D-I games for the upcoming season. She joined Hall Call to discuss her transition from playing to officiating.

David Wright’ baseball career began in Chesapeake, VA, and it would eventually lead to him becoming one of the all-time greats in New York Mets history. Drafted directly out of high school by the Mets, Wright would quickly his way through the minors, including a stint with his hometown Norfolk Tides, before becoming a 7x All-Star over 14 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Mets. Wright got the chance to test his skills against major league talent at an early age, playing with and against future major league stars in little league, high school, and AAU. Wright takes great pride in the baseball legacy Virginia has, and his role in cultivating that, as he along with fellow 2020 inductee Mike Cubbage become the 33rd and 34th baseball inductees into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

Dennis Carter began his broadcasting career in Danville, VA and over the next four decades Carter became just as popular with sports fans in Central and Western Virginia, as the subjects he covered. Serving as Sports Director at WSET for many of those years, Carter covered local and state sports in the Southside, Valley, and Southwest regions of the state, with a passion that often lead to many long road trips and late nights. He describes the identity of sports in that region of Virginia as hardworking, and Carter matched that identity with his own work ethic. Over the course his career, he has been honored with numerous accolades from the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters, Virginia Association of Broadcasters, Lynchburg Area Sports Hall of Fame, Amherst County Sports Hall of Fame, and Danville Community College Sports Hall of Fame. In April, Carter will be inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame as part of its 49th class of inductees.

A gifted athlete from Newport News, Virginia, 2020 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee Al Toon studied animal movements as a child to help him improve his skills as an athlete. That strategy worked, as Toon’s abilities led him to become an All BIG10 performer in both track and football, at the University of Wisconsin, and an All-Pro wide receiver in the NFL with the New York Jets. Originally cut from his JV football team, Toon began to focus on track where he excelled in the long jump, triple jump, high jump, and hurdles, dreaming of representing the United States in the Olympics. While a hamstring injury put an end to his track career, his professional career was far from over. The 1985 first round NFL draft pick would become one of the most complete wide receivers in the NFL during his 8-year career. One of only two players to catch 500 or more passes in under 110 games, Toon played a violent game with a thinking man’s disposition. Toon joined the Hall Call Podcast to reflect on his career, and career that has brought him to the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

In the 49 years Since being drafted by the Washington Senators in 1971, Cubbage has served every role imaginable in professional baseball having been a player, coach, manager, scout, and now special assistant to the World Series Champion Washington Nationals General Manager. His love for the game is deep, and his memory is even better. Cubbage joined the Hall Call podcast to take a walk down memory lane and reflect upon the moments and the individuals that have helped him become a Virginia Sports Hall of Famer.

Reactions poured out across the world of sports an entertainment, for one of the greatest basketball players that ever lived. Here in Virginia, we had the unique opportunity to talk to a native Virginian who knew Kobe very well. Roland Lazenby from Wytheville has written two biographies on Bryant. The two biographies, The NBA Education of Kobe Bryant (2000) and Showboat: The Life of Kobe Bryant (2016), provide readers unique access to one the greatest basketball players that ever lived, but also one of basketball’s most complicated characters. We had the pleasure of having Lazenby join the Hall Call Podcast to reflect on the life of the one known as the Black Mamba.

While the Hokies came up short in their quest to bring a national championship to Blacksburg, the team’s legacy and impact on the Hokie program lives on two decades later. Virginia Sports Hall of Fame media inductee, Bill Roth, had as good a seat as anyone for that 1999 season. The former voice of the Hokies, Roth called every game that year and brings his unique perspective from that season to the Hall Call Podcast. With the Twins completing one of their most successful regular seasons ever, registering 101 wins on their way to the American League Central pennant, the team became the poster child for the modern day “all or nothing approach” in baseball, setting a new MLB record for team homeruns with 307. Since the 1994 World Cup, soccer has seen an unprecedented level of growth here in the United States. One of the longest continuously run professional soccer franchises in the country, happens to pre-date that ’94 World Cup, while also calling the Commonwealth home. The Richmond Kickers founded in 1993 have undergone many changes over the last 26 years, but the most recent one may be the most important. 2016 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee and Richmond Kickers alum, Rob Ukrop, spearheaded an effort in 2018 to take ownership of the franchise with his group 22 Holdings LLC. Ukrop and 22 Holdings were approved as the new owners in December of 2018 with the goal of restoring a winning tradition to the Kickers. Ukrop, a Richmond native, joined the Hall Call Podcast to talk about his transition from player to executive, the role the Kickers will play in Richmond’s sports identity, and how all levels of professional soccer can help the U.S. build towards the 2026 North American World Cup.

Throughout the history of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, 334 individuals have gained induction representing 22 different sports. Sports that have not been represented to this point include ice hockey, figure skating, and indoor skydiving. In the coming years however, that could change due to the work being done by Virginia resident Bob Pizzini. Pizzini is the current CEO of IFLY: Indoor Skydiving in Virginia Beach, and is spearheading a fundraising effort to build a brand new, state of the art ice facility in the resort city as well. Pizzini, a Wisconsin native, has always had a love for sports at his core. After serving in the military for 26 years, Pizzini settled in Virginia Beach and opened the IFLY facility, transforming it into a premier indoor skydiving event venue, hosting the last 3 U.S. Opens. In addition to that he has also led efforts in creating a national governing body for the sport to increase its profile internationally, with the goal of inclusion in future Olympic Games. A hockey fan at heart, Pizzini is now working with a Boston Bruins Alumni group on the Warrior Ice Center project, hoping to increase hockey play and development here in the Commonwealth. Pizzini joined us on the Hall Call Podcast to discuss these initiatives and the evolution of the Virginia sports landscape.

Sports have often been used to help raise money for worthy causes. Whether it’s a golf tournament, or a 5k run, or marathon, most people have participated in one way or another in a charitable sports initiative. In 2008, Ken Lees wanted to find another sport through which to give back, and the Table Tennis Charitable Foundation was born. From humble beginnings in 2008, the Table Tennis Charitable Foundation has grown its annual Ping Pong for Charity events from 12 “scratch and dent tables” to 30 professional grade tables and over 200 players. In the process, the events have increased their charitable donations from $5,000 in year one, to over $70,000 dollars last year which was then donated to five charitable organizations. The sport of Ping Pong itself has been scientifically proven to improve mental health and brain fitness for all ages, and the Ping Pong for Charity events focus on giving back to organizations that support similar initiatives. Over the course of 12 years, the Table Tennis Charitable Foundation has enlisted the support of celebrities from the sports and entertainment world to help with their cause. Celebs such as former Duke and NBA basketball stars, Christian Laettner and Kenney Dennard, and former Miss Greece and Greek National Table Tennis Champion, Ionna Papadimitriou, have all participated in past events and plan to attend this year as well. On this episode of the Hall Call Podcast we talk to the founder of the Table Tennis Charitable Foundation, Ken Lees, and former Duke Basketball star Kenny Dennard, as they tell the story of Ping Pong for Charity.
Hall Call Ep 007 - Charity Bowl 9 - 4-19
For over a half century, the Charity Bowl has been played in Southeastern Virginia, with the goal of helping those in need. Recognized as the oldest charitable football game in the United States, the game itself and its support for local charities almost came to an end around 2010. Originally used as a fundraiser for the Joy Fund, an organization that purchased Christmas presents for under privileged children, the Charity Bowl’s fundraising had reached a level where it was no longer sustainable. Baseball, like many sports, is a global game and over the past two decades Major League Baseball in particular has taken the game to Sydney, Beijing, Havana, and most recently London, among other destinations. Each of these games and the venues created to host them however, have a connection back to Southwest Virginia. Murray Cook, a native of Salem, and Major League Baseball’s Field and Stadium Consultant, has been helping MLB take the game to far-away places for the better part of 30-years. He has shown the ability to convert existing stadiums into baseball fields, such as with the recent London Series, as well as develop stadiums out of nothing, much like he did at Fort Bragg in 2012. Whether it’s an existing field, a cricket pitch, soccer stadium, or even an abandoned golf course, Cook has converted it to a baseball diamond fit for the best players in the world. Cook joined the Hall Call podcast to talk about his experience, growing the game, and the next frontier for MLB.
Hall Call Ep 004 - Nancy Lieberman 8 - 5 -19
1992 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, Nancy Lieberman, is what you would call a basketball lifer, and a successful one at that. A native of New York, Lieberman was a 3-time All-American, and 2-time National Champion with Old Dominion University Women’s Basketball, represented her country for USA Basketball, played in the WNBA, and has served numerous roles as a coach and commentator. Currently however, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer is setting a new standard in the BIG3 Basketball League. Now in her second season as head coach of Team Power, Lieberman made history when she was hired last year as the first female head coach in a men’s professional sports league. Beginning with her time at ODU in the late 1970’s, Lieberman has been an advocate for opportunity and equality in sports. Having won the BIG3 Championship with Team Power in 2018, Lieberman’s goal is to continue to influence and inspire in whatever role comes her way. Lieberman joined the Hall Call Podcast to talk about her basketball journey, and her role in highlighting equality, opportunity, and inclusion in sports.
Hall Call Ep 003 - Ed Miller (Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker) 7 - 31 - 19
Ed Miller, longtime writer for the Virginia Pilot in Southeastern Virginia joined the Hall Call Podcast to talk about the life and legacy of boxing legend, Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker. The 2007 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, and 2011 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee was tragically killed in an auto-pedestrian crash in Virginia Beach in July. The Norfolk native dominated every level of boxing becoming an amateur champion, and 1984 Olympic Gold medalist, and eventually a world champion in four different weight divisions. Whitaker is generally regarded as one of the greatest fighters of not only his generation, but all-time. Although his career took him to many destinations around the globe, Whitaker always made it a point to maintain a connection with the Hampton Roads area. He fought some of his greatest and high profile fights at venues in Virginia, and called the area home up until his death. Miller, through his work with the Virginian Pilot, covered Sweet Pea closely for over 20-years, and brings an intimate knowledge of Whitaker as not just a fighter, but as a human being. We were pleased to be able to the legacy of Whitaker through Hall Call.
Hall Call Ep 002 - Thomas Jones 7 - 22 - 19
2018 Virginia Sports Hall of inductee, Thomas Jones, joined the Hall Call Podcast to talk about his football career, and his transition to acting following his time on the gridiron. Jones, a native a Big Stone Gap, VA began playing football near the coal mines of Southwest VA and eventually became the University of Virginia's all-time leading rusher. What followed was a 12-year NFL career, that saw him become one of only 31 running backs in NFL history to eclipse the 10,000 yard mark. Following football, Jones began to try his hand in the entertainment industry initially writing and producing a tv show of his own. He soon caught the acting bug, and has featured in popular tv shows such as Shameless, Being Mary Jane, and Luke Cage, as well as movies including a feature role in 2017's A Violent Man. Jones talks about his journey from football player to actor in this episode of the Hall Call Podcast.
