This is achieved through the reading of the Gospel, engaging with sermons, and, most importantly, through meditation—what St. Ignatius refers to as contemplation of the mysteries of His life. To contemplate in this sense means immersing oneself in the scenes of our Saviors life, experiencing them as if they are unfolding before our very eyes.
