Defending The Constitution With Ryan Mullally
Ryan Mullally and I have a few things in common. We both went to law school as adults, we both detest critical race theory, and we both feel that the Democratic Party no longer represents us.One of the differences we have is that I voted for Trump in November, while he did not — even though he ruled out voting for Harris before he ruled out voting for Trump.Another difference is that while I spend the majority of my free time watching movies and kissing my dog, he spends what little free time he has fiercely defending the application of neutral Constitutional principles in law through his writing and podcast appearances. We had a terrific conversation about the political realignment that is occurring in America and touched upon all the relevant current events of the last few years.Unfortunately, we recorded this three days before the Trump/Boasbert/Roberts drama unfolded. It’s too bad because I would have loved to ask him about it. Nonetheless, I found his perspective on everything we talked about sobering and helpful. I’m going to need people like Ryan to keep me honest as I continue to navigate being a defender of The Constitution and a highly politicized new Trump supporter.

The Evolution Of The Supreme Court Since The 1980's With Daniel Martinez
Daniel Martinez and I have a lot in common. He is an attorney who comes from the left but now fully supports Trump. He joined me yesterday to tell me the story of how the Federalist Society came to dominate the Supreme Court since its founding in the early 1980s. I know that sounds like I think it's a bad thing the way I wrote it - but I don't and I assure you that both of us tried to approach the story from a neutral perspective. We are just jurisprudence nerds and wanted to talk about how the court has evolved, that's all. This conversation was a great follow-up to the one I had on Wednesday with my friend MJ who is also an attorney and a three-time Trump voter. I should warn you that I took twenty minutes at the beginning of this episode to talk a bit about myself for anyone who may be interested. Also, Dan and I talked about political identity, psychology, and current events for about forty minutes before we got into the topic at hand — so it's basically an hour before you start to hear the riveting (I think it's riveting) story about SCOTUS. I hope you like this episode of Searching for Political Identity! Thank you very much!

Reflecting On The First 48 Hours Of Trump's Second Term with MJ Giasullo

Are Aliens Demons?
Patrick Abbott is a sci-fi author and theologian. I was pleased to host him yesterday to discuss why some people reflexively refer to aliens as demons. This conversation may seem outside of the scope of a podcast called Searching for Political Identity, but for me, it fits in perfectly within the context of thinking outside the box and searching for truth. In the intro, I briefly discussed yesterday's "egg" video and why I have come to believe that humanity has already had contact with extraterrestrials.

Brianna Wu is a Democratic political activist. She is also a trans woman. We had a great conversation yesterday about trans policy, what's wrong with the Democratic Party, how I came to vote for Trump and other current events. I'm not sure you will agree with her opinion on Elon or Trump. I certainly don't. But I meant it when I said I was committed to hosting thought leaders from diverse backgrounds. And she certainly made me think.

#167 - Cody from X: I Read Documents From The Future In 1998 And This Is What Happens Between Now And 2035
Friend of the show Cody joined me for the second time last night. Cody is a brilliant poet, has an MBA and PhD, and recently wrote a dissertation on Restorative Justice. He's an interesting cat. We talked about a slew of topics, some of which are mainstream and some of which would be considered alternative and, frankly, even fantastical. The story goes that he was handed documents from the future in 1998 and now has insight into the world events that are occurring today. For example, Cody says we win WWIII after some initial struggles once Putin dies and Russia flips to the West. Don’t even get me started with his prediction for what happens in US politics before the election. Apparently, things get even weirder than they already are. We also talked a bit about aliens. That wasn’t on his agenda, but I couldn’t resist asking. On the mainstream side, we talked about issues like the justice system, abortion, and nutrition. Buckle up for this one because we entered some strange and fascinating territory. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!

#166 - John Bogley: A Rational Democrat's Argument Against Trump
My decision to vote for Trump does not mean that I have found my overall political identity or that I have any desire to stop talking to people with opposing views. It was an honor to host knowledgeable Democrat and long-time X friend John Bogley. He argued that I should reconsider my support for Trump because he is merely a good salesman who took credit for things that would have happened anyway during his term in office. The main focus of this conversation was Trump’s economy. John picked it apart piece by piece. Did he convince me to change my mind? The answer is that I'm firm in my decision. I couldn't have been posting with such conviction over the last few weeks if I wasn't. I see a world now on fire that was under control when Trump was in power, and I want a return to that sense of calm. There are also many other factors that I have laid out extensively lately that have made me all-in for Trump. However, because John is so rational and precise, I will still host him for a follow-up conversation before the election to discuss his opinion on Trump’s impact on foreign policy, social issues, and his culpability in the 2020 election drama. I'm honored to stand firm while simultaneously resisting the pull of the echo chamber.

#162 - Marianne Williamson: This Moment In Politics
Visionary political leader and prolific author Marianne Williamson joined me to share her perspective on our current political climate.

#161 - Guy Golan: What Does It Mean To Be Jewish?
I had a blast talking to Dr. Guy Golan about what it means to be Jewish and his new book "My Brother's Keeper? The Complicated Relationship between American Jews and Israel." He is spectacular, and the subject of the book is so relevant to what I'm going through.

#160 - Ivan Freed: Is Progressivism Mental Slavery?
Ivan Freed’s years as a leadership coach and philanthropist led him to conclude that progressive policies are tools of enslavement. Bizzare theory, right? I hope you find the conversation about his book “Chains” as thought-provoking as I did. Buy Chains here
