Hey guys, here is a Psychedelic Trance set I played on the weekend at a private gathering deep in the Victorian bush. Big thanks to the crew for getting me onboard. That is such a beautiful site. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and getting to enjoy some killer beats. My set was from 11pm to 12:30am. The vibe is mainly Forest Psy with a few Night Psy tracks thrown in for good measure. There's a really broad range of artists throughout the mix including a few I hadn't heard of before. After a great weekend at Chakra Gathering Solar Plexus, I wanna send big thank you to Norman & Supriya for all your hard work putting together such a fantastic event. The Location, Production, Music & People were all spot on and the F1 rig from Highpoint Studios was sounding awesome til the very end. It was my first time playing for the Chakra crew and I had a a blast playing some twisted Forest Psy on the Saturday night. My set contained tracks from artists like... Harry Blotter - Ascension Stage Sunrise Set @ Esoteric 2024
Since 2017, Esoteric has become a staple on the Australian festival calendar. Held over the Labour Day weekend, the event attracts over 7000 people showcasing Music, Art & Workshops across 7 Stages. 2024 was my 6th year performing on the Ascension Stage and It's always one of the highlights of my year. Big Thanks to Mike and his extended team for the incredible job they do consistently presenting us with quality artists and world class stage production. Like most years, Saturday's Psytrance line up was huge. Magik kicked off the evening followed by Hypnocoustics, Braincell, Scorb, Banjhaks, Farebi Jalebi, Farseer, Wiser with myself and Megapixel welcoming the morning. It was a real thrill playing the Sunrise Set after such an epic night of tunes. Following a truly mind bending set from Wiser, I kicked off with a track from Lunarave giving the crowd a much needed moment to reset and catch their breath. From there I continued with a selection of psychedelic tunes, slowly increasing the energy to peak just as daylight was poking over the horizon. Nearing the end of my set I wanted to include a Space Tribe track as a small tribute to the great man before finishing with something from his long time collaborator the one & only Electric Universe. Hey guys. Big thanks to everyone that came down the July edition of Sub Realm. This month I opened the night with a Vinyl techno set full of some of my favourite tunes I've collected during the last couple of years. Most tunes throughout the mix have a warehouse vibe with plenty of acid lines layered throughout. Ill try add a track list when I get a chance but expect to hear tracks from artists like Len Faki, Boston 168, Keith Carnel, Hector Oaks, Gregory Treshor, Thomas Schumacher, Yan Cook and more. 20 years on and I'm still an avid record collector. I really love playing vinyl and it's still my preferred medium to play on.

This time round my set was a little earlier in the night. To keep the night flowing nicely I dropped a few bpm's off my normal pace and played more of a daytime sound which went down really well. It had been a while since I "took my foot off the throttle" and it was really fun playing a bunch of stuff from some of the artists I grew up on like Dickster, Martian Arts, Tristan & Burn In Noise. Hey guys, Here is my closing set from this years edition of Sunshine Gathering in Melbourne, Australia. Once again the Contact High crew delivered a really awesome event. Mindhertz Live Set On The BPM Show PBS 106.7
Last weekend Mindhertz dropped into the PBS studio's to drop a special live set on "The BPM Show" with Simon Sez. Dan is no stranger to the Australian Psychedelic scene. From the Yarra Valley in Victoria. He was first introduced into the Aussie Doof Community in 2002, becoming instantly hooked by the outdoor sound. In 2005 he started writing his own brand of slamming full on 150 bpm melodic Psy/Goa Trance under the name Mindhertz. His music is best described as a true trance experience with no stop/start bullshit. Full power from start to finish with deep driving baselines, twisted melody's and spooky atmospheres with a unique energetic edge. Harry Blotter - Extended Sunrise Set @ Return To The Source 2019
Big thanks to Matty, Jade & the whole crew involved in this years Return to the Source. Set in a beautiful location just north of Melbourne, it was a great gathering with a diverse bunch of artists all bringing something different to the table. After a blasting Psytrance session throughout the first night, I played the final set closing the stage the stage from 5 to 6am. Following on from Cyan, I tried to keep the psychedelic energy flowing as the sun slowly rose. As 6am approached I'd planned to finish up on a Goa vibe with a couple of classic tracks from Electric Universe & Hypnoxock. However with good vibes all around & no official word to stop the tunes, the stage kept running for an extra 90 mins. After about 100 minutes of pretty blasting Psytrance. I decided to flip the mood on it's head. Starting with a classic track from DnB maestro Amit, I then proceeded to work my way through some of the more psychedelic Techno I happened to have with me. Needless to say the good times continued setting the mood for the awesome day ahead. I had a blast playing my set, mad respect goes out to all those rocking out right til the end. Since the thread about all the people we have lost over the years has gone up on the G.O.D & Smile Police Memories page, it’s got me thinking about how important it is to stay connected with the things we love, and I wanted to try to explain what this party is all about, and why we chose the name & theme #reconnect. 20 years is a long time between drinks! And I’m sure over the past 20 years all of us have had our fair share of life struggles, some of them much greater than others. We’ve all had our ups, & we’ve all had our downs. Some of us have lost people close to us along the way. Some have had relationship issues and separations, some have struggled with substance abuse. Some live with disabilities, mental illnesses and other medical conditions, while others might be caring for someone with a disability or illness. We may have financial issues. And some of us might just be feeling a bit lost, and we’re still trying to find our way. But if there is one thing that we would love everyone to take away from this party, its that we cannot allow ourselves to disconnect! This party is not just about reconnecting with old friends. It’s also a chance to reconnect with ourselves, and take back control of our lives. Take some time to remember all the things that used to make you happy, we all get too caught up in life’s worries sometimes that we forget to take some time out for ourselves! Hey guys, Here is a Hard House/Dance jam I recorded way back in 2003. This mix was just a jam session that I happened to record at home. There's a lot of Tidy & Tidy Two tracks in there so not a great deal of variation. Either way just I though I'd share it. At the time Melbourne's weekly club scene was really strong. On the Friday alone you had @tmosphere (Roxannes,) Hard Kandy (Billboards) & Bass Station (CBD Bar)all pulling big numbers week in week out. Each had a dedicated following and distinct sound synonymous with the night. For many years I attended all 3 more times that i can count. Overall it was Hard Kandy I ended up at the most. At some point I saw many of the artists from this mix perform there and many big nights were had. As the years ticked over and Hard House slowly turned into hard Dance, my tastes drifted more towards Techno, Acid & Psytrance. I still have a large archive of my Promo mixes, Event Recordings & random jams recorded as JFX during the Vinyl era. Each mix was numbered from #1 up to somewhere in the 90's and spanned genres like Hard Trance, Acid techno, Hard House, Tek Trance, 90's Rave, Trance & Techno. Here we have a random vinyl mix up. I think it was recorded at home sometime during late 2002 The track list is a broad selection Techno & Trance tunes you could loosely refer too as classics. Most people who were out rocking during the early 2000's should remember these like the back of their hand. Throughout the 2000's I saw all these guys perform except Wayne G & O.T Quartet. Thomas P Heckmann aka DRAX would be one of my all time favourite artists and definitely one of my biggest overall inspirations. Roughly 30 years into his career he is still going strong. Exclusively from his bandcamp his limited vinyl releases routinely sell out during the presale stage. Which he then labels & posts all around the globe himself. "Thomas P Heckmann" (Quote) Thomas: “All my acid tracks in the past 30 years were done and recorded live in my studio and therefore are more like a live set than a production. Harry Blotter - Industrial Jungle 4 (Sunday Arvo Dj Set)
Last weekend saw the 4th Industrial Jungle take place a few hrs outta Melbourne. I wanna send a huge thanks to UE & Crew for all the hard work putting the event together. With some testing conditions to deal with no amount of rain could dampen the superb vibe you guys create. It's great to add this year to the awesome memories from the first 3 parties all those years ago and I actually still have the little spanner everyone got at the 2nd or 3rd installment of Industrial . Thank you for asking me to perform at each event it's definatly a gathering I have a special place for and it's always great catching up with all you guys. Gotta say as expected the music was exceptional all weekend. This year my set was scheduled for Sunday afternoon. After much thought about what direction to take the music it so late in the party. I decided to drop about 3 or 4 bpm's off my usual pace and give it one last psychedelic blast before Smilk & Evoka rounded out day with a mesmerizing session of groovy & hypnotic beats. High Five & much respect to all those rocking out in the crowd. Collectively the energy was pulsing. I really had a blast cranking out my set & having all those smiles beaming back really makes a fun thing that much better. Big Shout out to the Ishtar crew for the thunderous sound across the weekend. Definatley a job well done. Hey guys, Hope your all well. Here is my set from Royal Doof 2019. As always it was a awesome party... Big thanks goes out to Robbo and crew for all the hard work. My set was at 12am on Sunday night. While doin my best to stop my fingers freezing solid, I played a bunch of twisted Psychedelic tunes as the laser blasted through the rain. I tried to keep the energy levels up, while slowly building up the bpm. Thanks to all those who braved the conditions and got a little crazy. I hope you all enjoyed the beats. I certainly had a great time blasting them out. I've still got so many memories from the early Royal Doofs I went to. It's funny to think almost 15 years have passed since the first one I attended. Thanks for bring out so many awesome acts over the years. I dunno what year it was but to this day the psychedelic energy that took over the D-Floor during Painkillers set was something most people never get to experience and it was great just to be there soaking it up.... Here's another mind bending 2hr dose of Psychedelic Trance , Recorded on Saturday night from 12:30 - 2:30am @ Ergot Gathering 2018. With the dust still settling I gotta say a big Thanks to the all the crew for such a mad weekend. The party was awesome across the board and it was great to get outdoors and be involved. With a rare 2 hr set, from the outset I was ultra pumped for this one. I spent about a week stockpiling a bunch of the most Psychedelic & Creative new tracks from my favorite Labels & Artists. Hey guys, Another awesome edition of Squared Senses went down in lush forrest within picturesque Brindabella Mountains last weekend. Following last year, this was my second time performing at the event. I had an absolute blast from the moment we arrived right up til our departure on Monday morning. Across the board this a great and very unique festival that I would highly recommend any one to check out should they get the chance. Just like last year, I played a pretty gnarly Psytrance set however this time it was during the day from 12-1pm. With this in mind I decided to pull back a touch on the bpm's, while still keeping all the crazy vibes & twisted energy of the sounds I play during the Night. Initially I was gonna remix the Bomfunk Mc's classic Freestyler, but pretty quickly it started to deviate down its own coarse. I may steer it back that way but I'm not really sure yet. Harry Blotter - Rainbow Serpent 2018 Application Mix
Hey guys hope your all well. Just sharing a long lost promo mix I prepared to accompany my 2018 Rainbow Serpent Musician application. Over the years my Rainbow Serpent promos have been some of the most popular mixes Ive ever done. I spent countless hours searching for the perfect collection of tunes to properly convey my interpretation of the awesome vibes shared by thousands of people every January in Melbourne, Australia. Spanning 2hrs & 40mins as always I designed to mix to last the drive to the festival. I squeezed in a couple of my own tracks near the start of the mix so keep an ear out for them. Kicking off at 123bpm, I set the tone with some smoother Deep House sounds before carefully increasing the tempo, adding hypnotic elements while the bottom end slowly gets heavier and heavier. The last 45 mins we get a little more serious with some thumping tracks before ending with an all might bang. Pretty happy with how this came out and I think it accurately matches the vibe given from the Sunday night Techno session & the epic Techno stints on the market & main stage. Sup Guys... Hope you all been well, Just sharing my first mix in a while. It's a recording from my 2:30am Techno set from Bellbird Crescent at 24 Moons this past weekend. During the first hour I kicked off on a more House orientated tip before steadily increasing the pace track by track. Ending with some tougher more underground bombs perfect for a dusty warehouse. **Pls note.... I had to cut the last 30 mins from this mix as it was made up of all my own productions which are still unreleased. When mixing techno I really like to layer the tracks to create extra tension and gain more control of the sound and intensity given off. Without a third deck there's limit's on how far u can take it, but I hope you all dig vibes from the set. The tracks are a nice varied selection Of killer Techno from artists spanning all corners of the globe. **Pls note.... Hey guy's, Hope your well. I got a thumping new extended 2.5 Psy mix for ya'll. This was played over the weekend at Burning Dan, a small outdoor gathering to celebrate a mates birthday. The location was beautiful and we had a beast of a rig to play on, so needless to say I had a blast smashing this set out. The first and last tracks are my own recent productions while the 30 odd tracks in between are a banging cross selection of tracks from some of my favourite artists across the globe. The mix hoovers between 146 & 150, once it gets going it doesn't really let up until a couple of slightly less hectic tracks at the very end. Around the middle I played a couple of tracks from SKP's forthcoming Ep on Highly Evolved and without a doubt I can say their D-Floor killers of the highest calibre. A Dj set of all my own music, testing out some of my recent Techno Productions. Big up's & Huge thanks to the "Bassnest" crew and all the killer artists that performed on the night. Also to ORB Media & Design for the awesome photography on the night. I was a little unsure how this would go down, as all the tracks are unmastered as they are still in progress and need to be tidied up. Thankfully the crowd seemed to dig it. Massive High 5 to everyone that was rocking on the floor. I cant wait to give em a proper run on a big system when most of em are finished. These tracks aside, I'd say I have another 2 hours of stuff that's sounding pretty good. Keep an ear out during my upcoming Techno sets for stacks more stuff I'm working on. Hey guy's , Hope your all well. Just sharing my latest techno set from a killer night with the Big Red Bus crew. Big respect goes out to the whole team for all their great work putting together one of Melbourne's best monthly parties for the last 10 or so years. Thanks for having me back on board I had a blast. From memory I believe this was the first time I've played a Tech set for them as opposed to Psytrance so I tried really hard to make sure it was a good one. Starting at 12am, I kicked of at 126bpm before slowly taking it up a few notches over the following 90 minutes. I aimed to play a fairly driving set, including a few slightly melodic gems along the way to keep it interesting. When ever i play Techno I really try to layer the tracks as much as possible to create new original soundscapes. You can expect lots of long extended mixes with clever EQ'ing used to control the tension and vibe's of the set. I threw in as many Cut'z, FX and Delay tricks as I could while still trying to keep the mix flowing and really clean. All in all I'm happy with how it sounded and It was great to see the place jumping. Massive High 5's go out to everyone in attendance. If you never been to the Big Red Bus or aren't a regular visitor I highly recommend getting down there on a monthly basis as it's always a killer night. I'll have to unravel the exact order of the track list. Till then I'll leave you with a the names of all the killer artists found with in..... Hey guys, I just got back from a great weekend at the 2016 Dragon Dreaming Festival in Wee Jasper. First off.. I gotta say, what an awesome time we all had. The location is to die for and definitely one of the finest I've ever seen. The crew delivered some great stage designs complete with A1 Sound and Lighting. All up without a doubt I'd say it is of Australia's premier outdoor festivals. Surprisingly this was my first time attending and I was also lucky enough to be performing a Psytrance set on the Main stage early Sunday morning. Needless to say I was ultra excited & huge thanks goes out to the organizers for booking me & providing such a great Festival year after year. After a lot of thought on what to play, considering the time slot I decided on a really energetic set with a few older all time classic's alongside some of the freshest new artists that have really been killing it lately. All in all the crowd seemed to really dig the tunes so I'm happy with the end result. Thanks to all the smiling people who were rocking the floor all night and morning. These days I don't get to perform to interstate crowds as often as I would like to. I had an absolute blast playing for you all & I hope to get some more opportunities to smash out some killer Techno & Psychedelic sets over the coming summer months. Hey Guys.... Just sharing the final mastered version of one of my newer tracks "Just a Phaze". The Ep will be released early October on Highly Evolved Music & will include a sublime stripped back remix from Maxi Basshead. This will be my 2nd official release and at the other end of the spectrum to my first track "Experimental Substance" Style wise, it's a mild throw back to the days when Techno and Trance Shared the same record crates & stages. Ive always Loved Artists like Oliver Lieb, Christopher Lawrence, Petar Dunduv, Gregory Treshor etc.. The track has a nice tranquil vibe, with the Kick & Bass just heavy enough to still give it some weight. Driving the track is a nice evolving melodies riding along tribal percussion. Been working on this one on and off for a while now and very glad to have it finished. Happy to say after more than a few alterations, it's now sounding like the track I envisioned. Sup guys, Hope your well. I got a new Full Power Psytrance mix to kick the week off. Ranging from 146 - 150 this is sort of a preview of the psychedelic sounds ill be playing over the upcoming Summer. Tiny bit tougher, Tiny bit faster and most importantly a tiny bit more Psychedelic : ).... Basically most of the stuff i normally saved for the harder sets and later slots has become the norm. Sup guys, Hope your well : ) FIrst off thanks to the crew & all involved for such a great party. Deep in the secluded Aussie bush, Chrysalis was on every count a top notch event. Combinig an awesome crowd, Wicked tunes and perfect winter doofin weather. It was a pleasure to share some beats with such a greatbunch of people. You guys really put together a solid event and I was stoked to be a tiny part of it. My set was from 4pm Sunday arvo, and I wanted to convey a reflective and somewhat uplifting vibe. While still retaining a strong dance floor feel with melodic breaks and bottom heavy Bass. I really like the selection on this one.
