Comparison is the Thief of Joy
Have you tried opening up Facebook and noticed someone’s amazing vacation, or the new car or house they’ve bought, or the wonderful celebration with their loved ones, and just felt worse about yourself? If yes, then you’re slipping into comparison, something we all do. All these unfiltered comparisons only lead to insecurity, fear, self-doubt, and negative beliefs. The moment we compare ourselves to others, especially the things we see on social media, we steal from the joy that’s always available to us. Birth story of my daughter PART 2
In part 1, I mentioned that we planned for a home birth but it didn’t happen because I was 16 days past due. Accessing Inspiration - Finding your Inner Cheerleader
Every time we do something we don't want to do, we are working against our own interests, forcing our drive to come from outside pressure and not from within. In the long run, trying to force ourselves to do something can work, but you don’t enjoy the process and often end up burnt out. Transformation happens when we shift from ‘what we should do’ to ‘what we want to do’. Accessing our inner voice allows us to hear what our body and soul wants. Listening to this little voice empowers us to do things that we truly believe in. It’s a place of fulfillment, joy, and productivity led by inspired actions. Body Image & Pregnancy
During pregnancy, bodily changes are inevitable. It’s a natural part of pregnancy but seeing your body change can be uncomfortable. Insecurities, negative food relationships, and anxiety may arise because of the societal emphasis on sexiness and beauty. It’s the main reason why some pregnant women struggle maintaining a positive body image. However, it’s important to understand that body image is not about your physical appearance but how you feel and love your body through its change. It’s a powerful tool for us to remind ourselves of who we are, what we've done, and the lessons we've learned. Also, you don't need to just do this at the end of the year. Stop the Comparison, what if you are right where you need to be?
It is normal to compare yourself to others and perhaps feel jealous of them. Comparisons can be beneficial at times. They can serve as a guide for progress and act as an inspiration. But when you become fixated on your flaws rather than your strengths, sitting in self-pity rather than appreciating where you are, then you are focused on the wrong thing. Understand that wherever you are right now, that’s where you’re supposed to be… And you have the power to always change that. Stop comparing yourself to others and to past versions of yourself, unless it’s inspiring you, otherwise it is a struggle you’ll never win. Why you are giving up on what you want and how to stop doing that

It may be exciting to be pregnant but it can also be a delicate period. Aside from the emotional ups and downs, one might doubt their capacity to be a mother, how their relationship may evolve, or their financial stability. Moreover, the experience of growing a new life has been thrilling and overall a beautiful experience. However, the emotional onslaught during pregnancy can really be overwhelming and at times it’s an overwhelming feeling of love… It’s essential to remember that all the emotions are normal. Moving Through Anxiety

Let go of trying to control things, people, circumstances outside of your control

Energy flows where your attention goes
What you focus on matters. A lot. You are a powerful co- creator. The importance of feeling Seen and Heard
We all have things about ourselves that we wish were different and oftentimes we don’t allow those parts of ourselves to be seen and heard. When we suppress the emotions and thoughts around these parts of us, it creates shame, confusion and a sense of loneliness. We all have experiences, thoughts and feelings that we wish were different or never happened, but the fact is the human experience includes all sorts of positive and negative and everything in between… and all those parts need to be acknowledged. Essentially, we need to Stop holding that shit in. Atomic Habits - My take-aways on how to build good habits
I want to share my big takeaways from reading the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear. What you consistently do eventually shapes who you are, what you think, and how you present yourself to others. In short, your HABITS shape who you are and your understanding of your identity. My 4 Step Process to Change Negative Thinking
Our thoughts affect how we feel and act since our thoughts are connected to our emotions and behaviors. Good Sleep & Emotional Health
Just a little catching up, so I'm back in Holland. We just got back from Peru. My husband and I spent six weeks travelling Peru. We saw a lot, experienced a lot, and met really interesting people. It was a really unique and amazing trip. As we traveled back, had some bad jet lag, I realized even more the importance of a good night's rest. In my lack of sleep, I’m struggling through fatigue trying to solve and figure things out about every area of my life… bad idea! Not a time to try to solve when you’re physically and emotionally tired.But instead of finding a solution, the outcome was more negativity, exhaustion, and stress. I'm Pregnant! Sharing all about my first trimester

A Humbling Experience - a reminder to find gratitude in the things we take for granted
How many of you grumble on little inconveniences when your life is already abundant? More often than not, I think we worry about what we don’t have and forget to appreciate what we're blessed with. Today, I want to share with you a really humbling experience that my husband and I had this week as we've been travelling Peru. We’ve met a lot of people, a lot of interesting stories along our journey which has been really amazing. But the most humbling one was when we stayed with an indigenous Shipibo family, by western standards, they live in poverty. It was really eye opening being able to spend a few days with these people, and it just reminded me of how lucky and blessed I am. Hey everyone! I’m still travelling with my husband. We’re now in Peru. We’re in this bungalow with a private pool and beautiful cabanas. We have the whole place to ourselves with the gorgeous view of the ocean. It's very beautiful here. I'm feeling very blessed and grateful. Today, I want to share with you this exercise that I did during my journaling this morning here in the gorgeous place. This is an exercise that I do often, no matter if I’m traveling or sitting on my couch at home, I thought it would be valuable to share with you for you to practice as it can bring up a lot of interesting thoughts and new awarenesses. Life is full of highs and lows. It’s a cycle that we all experience. So it’s natural to be anxious or fearful sometimes, especially in challenging or unpleasant life situations. How to be Less Defensive
Defensiveness is a behavior that can manifest in a variety of situations. It could be reacting to feedback at work or justifying criticisms from people close to you. We become defensive when a sensitive issue is brought up that leads to shame or we feel attacked. Although protective actions might make you feel better in the short term, they usually make you feel worse in the long run. The foundation of defensiveness is the belief that we must always be correct – that strength and feeling good enough equates to winning difficult conversations. It’s time to shift our mindsets. We can be open and receptive without being defensive. Today, I share what is defensiveness, why people become defensive, and ways to become less defensive so you can build lasting relationships. Moving Through Fear and Back to Self-Belief
Some of us believe that we must first overcome all our fears before moving forward. We keep holding back until we think it is safe enough to face our doubts. However, as we keep on waiting our fears get stronger and stronger, leaving us paralyzed in striving for what we truly want in life. Understand that fear is something that we all come up against, especially on our journey toward authenticity and success in life. Fear is a very NORMAL human emotion and one that we cannot fully escape. Recognize your fears and doubts… But don’t let them overcome you. What is Your Relationship with Your Dreams and Goals?
The path to success is never a straight line. You will encounter many challenges and roadblocks. Codependency, Victimhood, Vulnerability and Empathy in Relationships
As emotional beings, it’s natural for us to desire human connections. LOVE is probably the most powerful emotion that we desire. And relationships operate best when each other’s needs are satisfied in a balanced manner…but we must remember it’s never the responsibility of another to meet our needs, that’s our job. However, it is a beautiful thing when two people can come together and express themselves and CHOOSE to be a support of one another rather than trying to force or control support or connection… When the latter occurs, you may find yourself in a codependent relationship. Although it may be tough to navigate relationships since there are various types in our lives… The ability to build a strong, loving, and healthy relationship can be learned and developed. Indulging in emotions vs. Healthily feeling emotions
Sometimes what stops us from moving forward is because we are indulging in our emotions rather than processing them. This could be sadness, doubt, unworthiness, apathy, overwhelm, anxiety, etc. What happens most of the time is we get lost in the emotions and the stories that create the emotions. We keep on replaying the same story in our head, indulging in it and therefore intensifying the way we are feeling. The end result, we remain STUCK. It’s also common that we react to our emotions and do or say things that don’t serve us or our relationships, which results in more negative emotions. And so it’s really important to recognize whether you are processing heavy emotions in a healthy way or if you're indulging in them. In this episode, we’ll delve into the difference between indulging and healthily feeling emotions, understanding and managing difficult emotions, how to disconnect from the story and instead healthily process emotions so you can move forward in a positive way. The Concept of Non-Attachment
As humans, we often attach our happiness to things, situations, and people. What we don’t realize is that these things aren’t everlasting, and that at any moment there is this possibility of losing them. That’s why most of us end up in pain when something happens like a relationship ending, losing a job, or even when your valuable items are stolen. I know it’s not easy to let go of attachment. It’s a continuous battle within us. However, our attachment to anything, no matter how valuable it is, is not worth our emotional well-being. LETTING GO is the key to a more fulfilling life. Judge, Jury, & Executioner: Your Inner Mean Girl
If you spoke to someone else the way you speak to yourself, would they cry? If so, this one’s for you- you gotta learn to stop that. You’re worthy of love, especially from YOU. It can be really hard not to go over past mistakes with a fine-tooth comb, mining for every goring detail of how terrible we are- I don’t know why it’s so easy, but it is. We’ve all got some bullies inside of us, and if we don’t learn to stand up to them, they can ruin our lives. How Do You Define Yourself?
How do you define yourself? Specifically, how do you define yourself when you fail (or feel like you’ve failed)? I know that it can feel disappointing when we don’t get what we want or (think) we need. But what if, instead of getting down on yourself, or letting it keep you from getting up and trying again, what if you instead admired the parts of your attempt that worked? Better still, what if you appreciated the fact that you were brave enough to try at all, and tried to learn something from it? This concept is what I like to call “failing forward” and though it may seem like a small shift, this reframe is seriously powerful. How to Achieve Self-Empowerment
All anger really is, is a lack of control. It’s a secondary emotion in response to feeling anxious or unable to control events happening around you. And for a lot of us, it’s safer or easier than acknowledging that something is happening that we don’t like. It’s also anger that tips us into the victim mindset. Once we’re already angry, that’s the lens we use to view things around us. Recognizing our harmful tendencies and working on them is the ultimate way to overhaul a feeling of powerlessness. How to Stop Comparing Yourself to Others and Embrace Joy in Your Relationship
Just because he forgets to put the toilet seat down in no way means your relationship is doomed. So you gotta stop deciding it is because some Instagram influencer told you her boyfriend gets her spontaneous flowers and massages. (Who knows, maybe he also forgets to put the toilet seat down). The point is, comparison is a dangerous thing, and all it will do is make you unnecessarily play the victim and go looking for trouble in your relationship. Who are you BEING?
Do you ever feel like you’re so far from where you want to be in life? I think sometimes we all do, but that’s ok! In fact, it’s a good thing. It means that you are self-aware and want to do the work to become a better version of yourself. That, friends, is half the battle. So many people wander through life on autopilot and hardly think about how all their actions and accomplishments accumulate to make them who they are. Once we’re aware of this, the work can begin. We Are Never Alone
For some people, coffee is crucial in the morning. For others, a run or some yoga. For me, it’s my morning devotion. It’s during this time I’m able to embrace God and feel his love for me. Surrounded and protected in His light, I’m able to carry the lessons I’ve learned with me throughout the day. It sets the tone for every interaction I have, and reminds me that even if things seem dark, I’m never alone. How To Take Back Control Of Your Thoughts
Do you ever feel like you are out of control? Like your emotions are controlling you? I think we all do sometimes, but many of my clients come to me feeling this way. They feel their emotions take over them, they feel things need to change, people, their finances, bodies, job, politics, religion, all the things...in order for them to feel better. Well, this is codependency and when you are codependent you don’t have much control over your emotional well-being. Today, I walk you through what is and is not in your control, how to allow for your emotions to be there without feeling out of control, and how to release the need to change everything outside of you.

16. Life is 50/50 of Negative & Positive Emotion
One of the biggest problems with so many people is that they hate negative emotion. They run from it, push it away or react to it. They mistreat it and it lashes back. Negative emotions are normal. 16. Worthiness
The idea of becoming worthy is impossible. Every single human is worthy. It has already been decided. It is inherent to all people. No external thing, money, a job, a partner, success, travel, body type, degree, can make you more or less worthy. You already are, it is in you all the time, full worthiness. The problem is that many humans do not accept this as true and even if they do, they do not know how to connect to that worthiness. 13. Self-Confidence is a skill
Today, I am teaching you the difference between confidence and self-confidence. Some of us believe that some people are just confident by nature, but I am here to tell you that self-confidence is a skill that you can learn.
