There are a few different varieties but we tried the High Rye. It is a very unique whiskey with plenty of flavor for the proof. Well, this was one of those bottles you see and it looks familiar but so different. This bottle was a dusty when I bought it. It was bottled in 2018 and I bought it around 2022-2023. Blackened X Wes Henderson
Although we have never done Blackened, Rob got a killer deal on the Wes Henderson Collab, so we had to do a review of it. If you were unaware, Blackened is aged in a rickhouse where they play Metallica music. While Rob was on his cruise/honeymoon, he picked up a special Jack Daniel's bottle. Yeah, we know that it doesn't make sense but he did. An Unexpected Whiskey Double Header
Well, we started with 1 whiskey but decided to review 2 and boy, did we have 2 polar opposite whiskeys. Creek Water is an American whiskey, aged a minimum of 1 day and Resilient 16 Year Bourbon, is aged a minimum of 16 years. One interesting thing we learned was Creek Water is Yelawolf's whiskey which if you don't know Yelawolf, he is a white rapper. The Angel Has Landed
Surprisingly, we have never done a full review of Angel's Envy Bourbon, but that changes today... An interesting pour for a port barrel aged bourbon that has a lot of flavor for it's low proof. Bulleit 12 Year Rye
As you all likely know, we have a special spot in our hearts for Bulleit, except the single malt (just a huge mistake). So, when we saw the 12 year Rye, we had to give it a shot. The only major change to this rye whiskey was over doubling the age. With a low rye mashbill, 51% rye and 49% corn, it is the lowest rye mashbill that we have tried and the lowest amount of rye that it can have and still be a rye whiskey. We are going back to our roots with this very budget friendly bourbon that we believe comes out of Heaven Hill Distillery. Coming in at $12 per 750ml bottle, it is one of the cheapest whiskeys that we have tried. Surprisingly smooth with a nice sweetness and finish. Knob Creek 12 Year Bourbon
If you have followed us for a while, you probably are not surprised that Knob Creek is back and for good reason, they make good whiskey. So far we have done the 9 year (100pf), Single Barrel Select Bourbon and Rye (115 and 120 proof). Does the 12 year stand up at its price point? With the 9 year at $30 and the 12 year at $65 (as of 2022), is it worth twice the amount? The tricky thing is the bottle (painted black) hides the color of the bourbon. It is lighter in color and as expected, it is a mellow sipper that is on the sweeter side. Piggyback Rye - Big Papi Edition

Just released this month, Whistlepig collaborated with David Ortiz aka "Big Papi", one of the best power hitters of all time to come up with a very unique rye whiskey. At 100% rye and 96.56 proof the regular Piggyback Rye gives you a nice enjoyable rye punch, but thanks to David Ortiz, they decided to age the rye also with Maple baseball bats. The maple brings in a lot of flavor and uniqueness compared to the original. Lincoln Straight Bourbon - Barrel Proof
So we were excited to grab this bottle as sub-$30 and have a barrel proof in that price point. Little did we know that we just got a great deal on it. Coming in at $55 from what we could find, this is a barrel proof bourbon on the lower end in terms of pricing. It is a very interesting bourbon, smooth for the proof, but not what one would expect from a barrel proof bourbon. Premade Old Fashioned Trio
We have been discussing this for some time (as we have many other great ideas) and it has finally come to fruition. We see premade mixed drinks all of the time, but when one thinks of premade vs fresh, there really is no comparison, or is there? Well to test this out, we tasted the On the Rocks Old Fashioned made with Knob Creek as well as the Whistlepig Ginger Fashioned and Orange Fashioned. It was requested that we review Giant Texas Single Barrel but we have not been able to find it so we figured this was the next best thing. Woodford Reserve Straight Rye
We are back with another review. Surprisingly we have another rye this week, Woodford Reserve Straight Rye. So far, Woodford Reserve has been highly reviewed by us and is a solid distillery. The rye is a bit different, but would be great for someone just getting into ryes. The low rye content in this whiskey makes it much smoother than most but there is still enough flavor to keep the more seasoned rye drinker interested. Noble Oak Bourbon is a sourced bourbon that they age with Sherry Barrel Staves. Noble Oak has a cool story as for each bottle sold, they plant an oak tree. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
In this special episode, we review a new favorite and quite possibly our highest rated to date, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. A nice bourbon that was aged differently than most we have had. Instead of aging it in the same barrel, Woodford decided to age it as they did for the standard Woodford Reserve then age it an additional 6 months to a year in a highly toasted lightly charred barrel.
