009: Strategies For Communication & Positive Interaction

from Toe The Redline Podcast · host Toe The Redline

In episode nine, we discuss strategies for effective communication and how to have positive interactions. We first covered how honesty with ourselves should be the first step in communicating. If our actions don't reflect the words we say, then nothing we try to do in influencing someone will matter. We also cover a key component in communication, which is respect, especially when we're discussing a concept where there are opposing sides. We then unraveled the power of empathy, but also detachment from the emotional side of an interaction. We then discussed how key it is to listen and eliminate our ego when interacting with others. We finished off talking about having others find the answer themselves. It's not necessarily about what you're TELLING someone, it's more about what they HEAR from the words you say and the ACTIONS you show. This episode is part one of a "one take" style podcast, it segways directly into episode 10, which covers how we can utilize pain and suffering for our benefit. Please leave a rating if you enjoyed the show and check out our socials for redline challenges and clips!
