049 How a Passion and Love for Travel Led to Art Sales with Salvatore Dibartolo

from Paint Rest Repeat: Art Business & Artist Marketing with Ros Gervay · host Ros Gervay and Laura Day

This fortnight, we bring you an enriching interview with the talented Salvatore Dibartolo. Based in Melbourne Australia Salvatore created vibrant paintings fueled by his love for travel. As a late starter to his professional art career. He shares his creative background saying that creativity was encouraged within his household and that everyone in his family was gifted with their own particular artistic talents.   He refined his painting technique learning from youtube and looking things up online. Salvatore landed on his current painting style from advice from Nancy Donaldson the CEO and founder of Art Lovers Australia. His paintings fuse his love for travel and in particular Italy as he spent 5 years in Sicily in his 20’s. When he talks about his travels and experiences in Italy you really get a sense for his passion and why he aims to bring that energy into the artworks that he produces.    In our conversation we touch on aspects of the business of art discussing Salvatores experience in setting up his own website. Which both Ros and Laura think is a great example of a website for those artists who are just starting out - go take a look! We touch on social media and branding as well as representation in Art Lovers Australia, Fenton and Fenton, Art to Art and the Rising Talent competition that he entered. As well as Georgia from the block buying an artwork from him and how that exposure assisted in getting his work recognised. We also talk about his experience producing a range of Prints and his experience with drop shipping.     Salvatore has really interesting insights to share and we hope that you enjoy this chat - We love hearing from our listeners, let us know what takeaways you have from this episode!   PODCAST LINKS:   Salvatore Website: https://www.salvatoredibartolo.com/   Salvatore Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/salvatoredibartolo_art/   Salvatore Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/salvatoredibartoloart/ FIND US AND FOLLOW US ONLINE!   Follow Laura on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/laurajaneday/    Follow Ros on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rosgervayart   And to book a creative kick-start coaching session with Laura or to find out more about her Soul Medicine Painting workshops please visit: https://laurajaneday.com/   For more information about Ros’ Art For The Heart membership visit https://www.permissiontopaint.co or to see Ros’ artwork please visit http://www.rosgervayart.com   Book Your Spot in a Painting and Gin Experience with Laura: https://laurajaneday.com/gin-painting   Please help us grow our Podcast by leaving us 5 stars on Spotify or a review on Apple Podcasts.
