#081 - Daft Punk Break Up, Birdland, Working Man

from You Should Check It Out · host Wimbly Stoke

Nick brings us the news that Daft Punk have officially called it quits after 28 years. Announced via a video released on YouTube called “Epiologue”, the guys discuss the band’s history and Songs:Daft Punk - One More TimeDaft Punk - Digital LoveGreg has a new segment for us this week & he’s brought an intro for us as well!Welcome to BIRDLAND- the segment where we WING it.  Today I asked my friends on Facebook to name their favorite Bird-themed songs, no matter the genre... in other words, talk BIRDY to me.  It felt a little HAWKward at first but I have to say I was shocked- so many folks CHIRPED in!  It was a real BEAKon of hope in these strange times.  A few of the songs suggested were a bit of oSTRICH, but most of them are OWLsome- simply POULTRY in motion.  And I gotta admit, some of them really QUACKed me up.  Once these folks started brainstorming they couldn’t stop RAVEN!  And in the end, this list is imPECKable.  So if it’s not too much of a BIRDen, I’d like to say my top 3, and then ask you guys what your top 3 bird songs are!  And while I can tell, you guys think this is going to be unPHEASANT... trust me, it’s gonna be be a HOOT!Friend of the show Kresimir Tokic, along with Jay & Greg pulled together a special gift for Nick this week. Following the death of his father & past guest Guy Kline, the guys decided the only fitting way to show their love & support and to pay tribute to Guy, was through music. Jay presents Working Man by Rush. Guitars & vocals by Jay, bass & mixing/editing by Kresimir & lead guitar by Greg.Note from Nick - Love you guys, I’m so fortunate to call you friends, thank you.
