Quantumcomputers. Ook in de wereld van cybersecurity kunnen we er niet omheen. We gebruiken encryptie om data onleesbaar te maken als deze onderweg is van A naar B. Bijvoorbeeld tijdens financiële transacties of bij staatsgeheime communicatie. De quantumcomputer maakt het mogelijk om deze data in no-time te ontsleutelen en leesbaar te maken, ook voor kwaadwillenden. Zover is het gelukkig nog niet, maar we moeten ons nu al wel voorbereiden om gevoelige data veilig te houden voor vreemde ogen. Want de gevolgen kunnen groot zijn en een quick fix bestaat niet.
