Gần đây, hải quan Trung Quốc đã cung cấp tới 246 mã số vùng trồng, 97 mã số cho cơ sở đóng gói. Nhìn chung, tình hình xuất khẩu sầu riêng đang có nhiều thuận lợi về cơ sở vật chất hỗ trợ. Do đó, ở các tỉnh Đông Nam Bộ, Tây Nguyên hay Tây Nam Bộ đang diễn ra tình trạng người nông dân thi nhau chặt những giống cây hiện tại để trồng sầu riêng. Không chỉ ở Việt Nam mà các nước như Thái Lan, Philippines, Malaysia cũng đang ra sức trồng và xuất khẩu sầu riêng.  Tuy nhiên, Cục Trồng trọt Việt Nam cho biết thị trường đang có những diễn biến phức tạp khi mà người nông dân ồ ạt trồng sầu riêng. Chính vì vậy họ đang tìm cách để trấn an và khuyên người dân nên bình tĩnh lại.
