112: Change Your Protocol, Not Your Goal

from Time to Pivot

Let’s do a check-in! How are those goals coming along as 2025 is nearing the end? If you’re anything like me, who encountered a massively unexpected, life-changing event in January with the Palisades fires, you may be feeling like 2025 will come and go with none of your goals achieved. Or maybe you didn’t have a major incident occur, but you still feel like you’re no closer to your big or small goals you set than you were the week you dreamed them up. Regardless of where you are on your journey, it turns out, we don’t have to let our hopes and dreams fizzle out completely. Instead of gearing up for a whole new goal, when all seems to be pointing to loss or failure, we can actually make a change in our approach to our goals. And just for fun, let’s keep it simple, shall we? Highlights:(01:18) The chaos, the fires, and finding my focus again(04:10) Why “doing it all” nearly broke me(07:30) The 3 steps I fall back on when life hits pause(11:15) Change your protocol, not your goal(14:50) What “compassionate containment” looks like in real life(17:30) Finding beauty in the ashes (literally)Mentioned:Just Be Held song by Casting Crowns on YouTubeEnjoying the Time To Pivot podcast?
