from Podiatry Legends Podcast · host Tyson E Franklin

Dr Nick Fuller is a globally recognised obesity expert from the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He has degrees in exercise physiology, nutrition and dietetics, and a doctorate in obesity and weight management. He is the resident obesity expert on Channel 9's Today Show and is the author of three best-selling books on the Interval Weight Loss program. In this episode, we discuss: Main contributors to the obesity epidemic. Some people diet themselves heavier. Barriers to long-term weight-loss success. Your body fights back to gain weight. Evidence-based tips to use with the patient for long-term weight-loss. Eating from big to small. Keto diets and intermittent fasting make bold claims but cannot back it up with science.  The six principles of the interval weight loss plan: You can't fight evolution. Reach for nature first Full rainbow Use chopsticks Choose to move No blue light after twilight Television Wants Visual Attention When you watch a weight loss program on television, the show's goal is to gain visual attention by showing dramatic weight loss and body transformations in quite a short period of time.  Dr Nick Fuller says these shows have got it all wrong, and most people who lose a sizable amount of weight will more than likely put in all back on again, plus a little bit more.  Your body will fight back, and it will win.  Final Tip You have the ability to educate your patients, friends and colleagues. And when they are educated, they will feel informed and empowered.  If you're interested in watching the video of this particular episode, you can visit my YOUTUBE Channel, Tyson Franklin and please SUBSCRIBE, so you're informed whenever a new video is released.  If you have any questions about this episode, please send me an email at [email protected], or you can connect with Nick at IntervalWeightLoss.com.au.  Competitive Advantage If you're looking for a Competitive Advantage over other podiatrists in your area, please visit my EVENTS PAGE, and consider joining my next group coaching program, the 12-Week Podiatry Business Reboot or join the Podiatry Business Owners Club on Facebook.
