#175 - The Reluctant Networker with Greg Peters

from Live Full Work Fun Podcast

Have you ever felt a little "reluctant" when it comes to networking? I know I have. As an introvert, it can be daunting to go out and do the whole networking thing. It feels awkward and sometimes forced.   My guest, Greg Peters, totally understands. A computer programmer by training, Greg was the original reluctant networker. Through study, practice, and lots of trial and error, he has been able to transform himself into a true networking professional, using the skills he learned to build a thriving Web development business.   Now, as the co-founder of Third Generation Networking, Greg coaches individuals, trains staff, and presents to associations and other groups on how to get past their reluctance and start building better connections and stronger networks.   Greg is a past Chapter President of the National Speakers Association, the author of HELLO AND A HANDSHAKE: A RELUCTANT NETWORKER'S GUIDE TO SURVIVAL AND SUCCESS AT YOUR NEXT BUSINESS GATHERING, and the co-host of the THIRD GENERATION NETWORKING PODCAST.   Networking successfully is important when it comes to building a business. Ultimately, networking is a matter of making new friends... but why does it seem so hard sometimes?   Whether you have an online business or not, networking the right way and making those quality connections is vital for growth. Sometimes it takes getting out of your comfort zone and it definitely means not always being in sell mode.In this episode, Greg reveals a great secret that helps him make connections from the stage for his speaking engagements. He also shares that it's not up to the other individual to develop the relationship. It's up to you to make the consistent effort.   Connect with Greg Peters: Website: https://thereluctantnetworker.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReluctantNetworker Twitter: https://twitter.com/gpetersspeaks LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thereluctantnetworker Connect with Gayla: Website: https://www.gaylascrivener.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gaylascrivener/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GaylaScrivenerWorkFromAnywhere/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gscrivener/ Content Marketing Resources:  Scrivener Solutions: https://scrivenersolutions.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXn6GdZzFN9Ij9Iqe41heew Free Download: 48 Social Media Post Ideas http://scrivenersolutions.com/48ideas
