I’ve been competing since I was eighteen. My first pageant was Miss Earth Australia.Growing up I loved watching Miss Universe and aspired to be just like the incredible women who stood on the world stage one day.Growing up I was incredibly shy and lacked self-confidence. I never believed I would be worthy or pretty enough to compete.I was entered into pageants by sheer luck as I was attending an unrelated runway casting hosted by the Miss Earth Australia manager. Half-way through the casting she announced I was now a finalist for Miss Earth Australia. I was completely shocked, but incredibly excited.After Miss Earth Australia I continued my pageant journey by competing in Miss Universe Australia, Miss World Australia, Miss Croatia Australia, Miss Galaxy Australia and now Miss Grand Australia.I am incredibly grateful for how much pageants have helped me grow. They have provided me with confidence in public speaking, taught me valuable life lessons, provided incredible opportunities, networking, life -long best friends and, hopefully one day, the opportunity to represent our beautiful country on the world stage.Pageants will always hold a place in my heart for they are more than competitions based on looks.
