Good evening. North Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly. High pressure is parked right over us tonight. and honestly? It's spoiling us rotten. Sixty one degrees and clear skies. That's not February. That's a postcard. In the next 24 hours. The Piedmont topped out at 66 degrees today. The Triangle hit 62. Even the mountains reached 66 with barely a whisper of wind. Just a gorgeous day across the board. Now tonight, those clear skies and calm air set up patchy fog. Especially along and south of I-78 degrees. Lows settle near 45 in the Piedmont, 44 around the Triangle. and 40 out in the mountains. If you're an early riser heading to church tomorrow, give yourself a few extra minutes. And speaking of tomorrow. This is the wild part. Sunday afternoon pushes near 75 degrees in the Piedmont. Seventy four in the Triangle. That's roughly 36 degrees above normal for this time of year. The mountains still reach 68. February doing its best April impression. But enjoy every minute of it. A backdoor cold front sneaks in Sunday evening. Gusty winds kick up. Showers are possible east of I-Ninety-Five. and then Monday? Completely different animal. Cold air damming locks in against the mountains. Highs crash to the upper 40s and low 50s. Rain moves in statewide. The northern mountains and spots near the Virginia border could even see a wintry mix. Looking further out, that cold wedge hangs around Tuesday. Then Wednesday, it finally erodes. Warmth comes flooding back. By Thursday we're in the 70s again. Friday? Flirting with 80 degrees. That's knocking on record territory. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight now. The spring equinox is just 20 days away. Winter's grip is slipping fast.
