from Can we have it all? · host Holly Wood

In this episode I talk in more depth about my personal journey of leaving the 9 to 5. I start with talking about my career background since leaving university, then onto being made redundant on my first maternity leave and through to identifying a business idea and why I think it's important to get out of a job that you don't love anymore... There's a secret guest in this episode too - can you guess who it is? Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
