Victoria’s snap lockdown wasn’t enough to force Barkly Street to ground this week, with the lads delivering an entertaining zoom episode of the Bulldogs’ official podcast.
From the comfort of their own homes, Bob and Woody chat about the issues of the day, before being joined by Dogs’ young gun Cody Weightman from his hotel room in Sydney.
Weightman gives an insight into the Bulldogs’ travelling party’s week in the harbour city so far, including the restrictions they must live by, and the strange feeling of training at the headquarters of the GWS Giants.
He also explains his approach to playing footy at the highest level, his love of surfing and art, what his plans are for his haircut, who are the most annoying players in the locker room, and why Bulldogs’ stalwart Archie Salek calls him ‘1919’.
Bob and Woody also chat about lockdown in Melbourne, including binging on ‘Mare of Easttown’, last week’s loss to Melbourne and coach Luke Beveridge’s exploits with the ‘six-string’ in hand.

Child of the Jago, A by Arthur Morrison (1863 - 1945) LibriVox Arthur George Morrison was an English author and journalist known for his realistic novels about London's East End and for his detective stories. Morrison's most famous novel is A Child of the Jago, published in 1896, The novel described in graphic detail living conditions in the East End, including the permeation of violence into everyday life (it was a barely fictionalized account of life in the Old Nichol Street Rookery). (Introduction by Wikipedia and Algy Pug)Other works in the trilogy: 1 - Tales of Mean Streets3 - To London Town People of the Abyss, The by Jack London (1876 - 1916) LibriVox Jack London lived for a time within the grim and grimy world of the East End of London, where half a million people scraped together hardly enough on which to survive. Even if they were able to work, they were paid only enough to allow them a pitiful existence. He grew to know and empathise with these forgotten (or ignored) people as he spoke with them and tasted the workhouse, life on the streets, ... and the food, which was cheap, barely nutritious, and foul.He writes about his experiences in a fluid and narrative style, making it very clear what he thinks of the social structures which created the Abyss, and of the millionaires who live high on the labours of a people forced to live in squalor. "... The food this managing class eats, the wine it drinks, ... the fine clothes it wears, are challenged by eight million mouths which have never had enough to fill them, and by twice eight million bodies which have never been sufficiently clothed and housed."(Summary Barkly Pets Bi-Weekly Podcast Barkly Pets Bi-Weekly Podcast Barkly Pets is an app-based dog walking service with the highest vetting, training, and safety standards.
