227. The Importance of Quarterly Couples Retreats

from Into The Wild

Hey you wild women! 2023 is coming to an end. It's now that time of year where we reflect on the things that we did this year, as well as look forward to the coming year. But something that's easy to overlook this time of year is your relationship, whether that be with a boyfriend, fiancé, husband, or otherwise. Quarterly couples retreats have transformed mine and my husband Dan's relationship, as you'll hear in today's episode. It's about reigniting the spark, setting mutual goals, and embracing the power of tranquility while stepping away from technology. In this episode, you will learn about: Why scheduling quarterly couples retreats is important for relationship growth. How disconnecting from technology during retreats strengthens the focus on each other. The significance of planning for the future together during end-of-year retreats. Choosing an inspiring location. What it's like to engage in joint physical activities during the retreat. The benefits of mental peace during retreats by disconnecting from social media. The use of a "work back" schedule to break down goals into manageable chunks. The necessity of adjusting or abandoning goals that don't align with the shared vision. The benefits that I've personally gained from going on retreats. Why embracing boredom during retreats can foster creativity and strengthen bonds. How participating in activities such as exploring new cities can enhance the retreat experience. Why it's so useful to create a vision board. Why flexibility is key in achieving the annual goals set during retreats. A personal example of abandoning a goal that was not in alignment with mine and Dan's vision.
