Em meio à atmosfera sombria do Pretório, local que servia de moradia para o governador romano na Judeia e onde também ficava um grupamento de soldados, Jesus enfrentou uma sucessão avassaladora de humilhações e crueldades. Aqueles que O cercavam não tinham compaixão, mas sim um desejo maligno de escarnecer e degradar o Rei dos reis. O primeiro golpe veio quando rasgaram Suas vestes, despojando-O de Sua dignidade e privacidade. Já haviam feito isso uma vez antes, antes de lançarem sobre Ele os flagelos implacáveis. Mas agora, desnudaram-no novamente, expondo-O diante de todos, como se fosse um espetáculo grotesco. A cena é difícil de imaginar: o Salvador do mundo, semi-nu, Seu corpo desfigurado e ensanguentado pelas chibatadas impiedosas sofridas poucas horas antes. A humilhação estava longe de acabar, pois mais ultrajes estavam por vir. Em seguida, os soldados vestiram Jesus com um manto. Era uma peça desgastada, provavelmente um manto descartado por um soldado romano. Sua cor era um vermelho escuro, evocando um tom de zombaria. A intenção dos soldados ao colocarem aquele manto era clara: ridicularizar e escarnecer de Jesus, pois havia sido condenado sob a alegação de ser um falso rei. É impossível conceber a dor que Jesus sentiu ao vestir aquela vestimenta indigna, enquanto Seu corpo retalhado vertia sangue. https://linktr.ee/abiblia_pura_e_simples
