I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Brad Crowell 0:57  Brad here filling in for Lesley, for this week's Friday Fuck yeah, Friday. All right, y'all obviously I'm not Lesley it's my first time hoppin in here today to, to step in on FYF. And I'm really fired up to do it, it's gonna be, it's interesting for me, Lesley is incredibly like introspective and innovative, and she has these, she's just a thinker, right? She does all that stuff. And I don't, usually this isn't a strength of mine. So sitting here, celebrating wins is as much of a new practice for me as it may be for you. And I hope that you, you know, hear these wins today. And you also see how you can find something joyous in your life to celebrate, even though things may be difficult or stressful for you, or whatever it is, there's always a win that you can find in your life. And I hope that you enjoy what you're hearing today. So Sonia wrote in and she said, a bittersweet win for me. Last week, my absolute fave client told me today that he just can't continue with me anymore. You know, those clients that even your family knows about because you talk about them so much. The win, he was selected for the National taekwondo team, he cannot afford financially and timewise to continue, as he has to travel halfway up the country to go to his training sessions alongside a demanding job. He started with me in December 2022, because he had injured his back working, and had to give up all of his training, etc. And I got him fighting fit again. And I used to be a black belt in martial arts. So I totally understand what the body needs. And he told me today that because of our sessions, he feels stronger than ever before, which got him back to training. And because of that, he's now made the GB team, Great Britain team. I'm not crying, three exclamation points there. He's writing me a testimonial. Well, Sonia, that is amazing. And I totally understand that bittersweetness. But also to, you know, hopefully, he came saying, hey, you know, I am injured and I need to get fit again. And you helped him accomplish his goal. So congratulations for doing that. That is incredible. And also kudos to your client for being able to compete and make that taekwondo team. That's a massive accomplishment for him. And you know what? You get to celebrate that, and also getting a testimonial from him is going to be really helpful, of course, for you to find additional clients that you can help who are maybe in exactly that same situation that he's in. So I love it. I think it's really tough to lose a client that way. But also, you know, you get to be excited for him. So I love it. Awesome. Thanks so much for sharing that, Sonia. Great job. All right. So today for us. For me, I was thinking about, like, what is a win something that I can truly celebrate? And I took a little time to think because mostly, most often, you know, thing that I stress about the most is money, right? And how do we pay for all the things and get all things and sometimes you don't know where the money's coming from, and blah, blah, blah, and all that stuff. And that's, you know, I didn't want to talk about money today. So I thought, what else can I celebrate, that doesn't have to do with a thing that makes me feel safe. Right? And I was thinking about a goal that we had years ago, we, as you all know, we have a property in Cambodia. And when Lesley and I were talking about it, you know, it was like, you know, the there was the long term concept of the goal, whatever it might be, you know, how you look ahead in the future, right? And I thought, man, you know what we could eventually it could just be a full time retreat space, right? And it was like, well, we didn't even start step one yet. But that was the initial goal was like someday this space after we run our retreats, figure it all out, get it dialed in. We could then open it up and it could be a retreat space for others to bring their groups in. And for the very first time, that is going to happen this year. This October, so I'm so fired up, I'm so grateful that we, you know, it's taken years to get to this point, we got our, the first time we ever went to Cambodia was in 2016, we started taking retreats there in 2017. We secured our place there 2018. It is 2023, y'all. So five years, it's taken, obviously COVID really jacked things up. But five years, and we're finally hosting another group that has nothing to do with Pilates, and they just loved our space and the experience they came with us to do, you know, to experience our retreat, and it was a really great time and a lot of fun and, and she thought, man, I can host my group here, and it could be a similarly fun experience for my group. And so I am just so fired up that that is actually coming to fruition. This dream that we've had, and you know, you know, in the future, there are still more goals, right? things grow and change, and there's dreams and all the things and you know, what I hope to be able to do with this is to begin training a team to be there when I can't be there and host groups for us on our behalf, on our company's behalf, to create that same experience, that same incredible fun vibe and really play host that we get to do when we take our groups there. So anyway, thank you so much for joining me today and let me hop in to celebrate Fuck Yeah Friday. And, you know, like I said at the beginning, you know, take a look at these wins today and find something in your life that you could celebrate and write it down and say it out loud, share it with a friend, share with a partner or share it with us because we are happy to feature it on a future FYF alrighty, bye now.Lesley Logan 4:55  That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
