#3 - Kevin Myers - The Fall of Irish Media

from Counterpoint with Eddie Hobbs · host Eddie Hobbs

Kevin Myers is an English-born Irish journalist and writer. He has contributed to the Irish Independent, the Irish edition of The Sunday Times, and The Irish Times. Despite being one of Ireland's most known and respected journalists, Kevin was "cancelled" in the summer of 2017 over alleged anti-semitism. He proceeded to win a legal action for defamation against RTÉ on the grounds of calling him a holocaust denier. Expect to learn about what it's like to be cancelled in real time, state Irish media today, the lack of debate and open discussion on topics such as political correctness and global warming, the issues with how Irish media and government handled COVID lockdowns, downsides of Ireland's open borders policy, the possible loss of Irish sovereignty due to European governance, the problematic nature of promising houses and hospitals for everyone, and Kevin's thoughts on the possibility of united Ireland, and much more.
