Today we welcome Kris Jones to the podcast. Kris owns Red Door Designs, which started as a graphic design and visual storytelling business. She eventually recognized that the biggest challenge and pain point for her clients was the copywriting piece. She’s created a fun and simple formula, so you don’t have to procrastinate on your copywriting anymore!Kris shares the importance of using stories to draw clients to you and grow your business. She walks us through developing the shortest type of story you can tell - your “elevator pitch.” She recommends creating a tagline or one-liner and keeping it short and concise. If you struggle with either going into too much detail or not saying enough, tune in! Her formula is simple and effective! What about written copy, though? Thank goodness for us, Kris shares that good written copy is conversational! So, if you would say it in conversation, write it in your copy. Also, make sure you position yourself as the guide and not the hero of the story. Your client should always be the hero! Good copy can create trust and connection with your potential client, which is invaluable! It’s like having a full-time sales employee that’s selling for you 24/7.
