34-New and Improved Recovering Mentally

from Recovering Mentally · host Jessie Rowe

Recovering Mentally is hosted by a suicide survivor who is a recovering alcoholic.  It focuses on breaking the stigma of mental illness, suicide, and addiction.  This is done through a host that has been there, done that, have that, and have the medical records to prove it.  This podcast provides tips, tricks, and humor back into what is a world-wide epidemic to help anyone affected by mental health or addiction to not feel alone.  I was educated, hardworking and yet no one would promote me because they focused on my disorders.  I had the look, the attitude, all of it.  Instead of boosting my status or paycheck it ended with me in a car, engine running, and garage door closed.  By the grace of a Higher Power, I was granted life.  For a month I was so angry, I did not want to live life anymore.  Suddenly, through a breakthrough I realized the real problem was not the companies, it was me.  I was “PRETENDING” to be someone I was not.  So, I got a mohawk and started living my life the way I wanted to live it.  My mantra suddenly was “Be the Bad Ass you were intended to be”.  My focus, my attitude, my career, my way of life changed exponentially.  This new way of living caused me to want to be in service of others who are like me.Together we will erase the stigma, we will own our authentic selves, and we will overcome the barriers put in front of us.  Together we WILL Recover Mentally!!!
