#384 Relational Living

from Intentional Living with Tanya Hale

Learning to live in relationship is a skill, and one that many of us have not learned, let alone even considered. But to have the intimate, connected relationships we innately crave, it is imperative we learn to move into 'we' thinking, considering our spouse and our relationship just as much as we consider ourselves. When we can deeply desire our spouse's happiness and fulfillment just as much as our own, when we truly desire to understand them and be a part of making their life significantly better, then we are on the path to living relationally. If we just want to do what we want, we have no business being in relationship because choosing another person in our lives means we are also choosing to stop asking who is right, and instead focus on what is right for the relationship.
