42. Babe, you need a break! Lessons from my first ever retreat

from The Business Of Her · host Laura Canham

I've literally just wrapped up this year's [the first ever!] Bali business retreat, and holy shitballs! It was incredible. While I sit here reflecting on the most incredible week, I decided to hop on the mic and record an episode to share the lessons learned from spending 5 days with 12 other brilliant business women - learning, connecting, resting and resetting. This retreat was designed to be a blend of work, rest and play. Because I know that most female entrepreneurs never take time for themselves and rarely step away from the business. In the fast paced world of entrepreneurship, we often think that we have don’t have time to slow down— I just have to respond to those emails, I just have to cross off one more thing from my to-do list, time is money, etc. However, what these women realised over the last few days is that slogging away on autopilot is not conducive to productivity or creativity. Because allowing your nervous system time to reset allows you to sharpen your axe and be the best business owner, and human you can be.This episode is all about the aha moments that everyone had during this retreat and some of the new perspectives they are taking into life and business, including:How to stop blaming yourself when things aren’t working in the businessDifferent ways you can take time for you each day, week and monthThe power of being seen amongst a group of women who get itLINKS:Spots for our 2025 Bali Business Retreat go live in September.
