6. How to Set Boundaries + Honor Your Truth ♡

from The Badass Bohemian Podcast · host Madeline MacDonald

Lessons in boundary setting: ♡ Set boundaries with yourself first. ♡ Honor your time and energy.  ♡ TIME boundaries. Show up to work, to meetings, to events in a timely manner. Simple but this is a boundary. Pay your bills on time. Show up to things on time or communicate effectively if that is not your reality. ♡ Speak up for yourself.  ♡ Learn to be assertive. We have this idea that being assertive can mean we are being bitchy, operating from ego, we come off like a jerk, etc. As a healing people pleaser, I know honey.. I have deeply struggled with this. It is okay to be straight forward. No is a full sentence. Or “I am sorry but that is just not going to work.” Be clear.  ♡ Give yourself GRACE. You will learn through the process. You may have times you communicate in ways you don’t intend to. You may have times you fail to clearly communicate. Be open to feedback and take ownership where it is needed. Give yourself love and compassion. Setting boundaries is not easy work. Astrology update: Virgo season begins. New moon in Virgo on August 27th/28th, calling forward some perfectionistic energy. This energy can be challenging, a lot might be surfacing for you right now. A reminder to re-access and realign where we need to. Cleanse, clean, purge, and organize. This is an energy deeply supportive of grounding rituals, and putting in place the necessary structure in your personal life and business. Re-write your mission statement. Do an energetic inventory of what feels aligned and what needs to go. Give yourself grace if you are feeling a lot of pressure to have it all figured out. It is okay babe. Work with this energy to form new ways of operating that best support you and will support your growth in this season and beyond.
