89th Lege Session Recap

Sine Die is here, and TLR is celebrating some major victories for Texas’s business environment. SB 29, corporate governance law, makes Texas the preferred destination for corporate reincorporation and relocation, and HB 40, a bill expanding the jurisdiction of the Texas Business Court, will make Texas even more enticing to businesses. While we celebrate these victories, TLR is greatly disappointed that critical civil justice reform bills, SB 30, SB 39, and SB 779 failed to pass this session. The costs of inaction on lawsuit reform are massive, and Texas lawmakers must make these issues a priority in the 90th Texas Legislative Session.
