944 Champions of Kindness

In honor of back-to-school, there's no time like the present to create champions of kindness.

Kindness is almost becoming a lost art. Why?

Everyone is afraid to remind children how to speak sweetly with concern for each other for fear of backlash (i.e., social media, confrontation at school or at church, etc.).

People talk out of one side of their mouths and then turn around and do something totally opposite.

If you want kindness to grow in your community, in your family, you must create champions of kindness.

How do you talk about your friends? Your family? Your husband? Your wife?

If you can't say what you're talking about directly to the person, then why are you talking about them?

Now understand --- I do believe you can have a confidant (someone you trust and respect, and can talk openly about a situation/circumstances). This is more about concern for that person/situation.

But I'm talking about our everyday interaction.... the grocery store, the football game, the post office, the county fair, the church, your favorite restaurant.

Take yourself back to high school. Is that how you're still acting? Because your actions speak louder than words. And I promise, your children are watching and so are others.

So let's create champions of kindness at all ages.

1. KINDHEARTED - Live with a serving heart. Compassion. Sympathy.
2. INSPIRING - Use words and actions that encourage, empower, lift up, build up.
3. NON-NEGOTIABLE - Do it regardless. No excuses.
4. DISCIPLINED - Rinse and repeat. Practice what you teach.
