Very little is known about the first black inventor, scientist and part time surveyor, Benjamin Banneker. However, what is known is infinitely fascinating. This week, I discuss the life of Benjamin Banneker. From growing up on a tobacco farm in Maryland, to partaking in the survey of the newly established capital city, Banneker defied expectations and was one of the first Black Americans to publish a series of Almanacs.
