A Baptist Christian and the Operations Director of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of North Carolina, Addul shares his incredible journey from a difficult childhood to a successful life of service. Born to a drug-addicted teenage mother and later enduring abuse and separation in the foster care system, Addul overcame incredible odds. He went on to serve in the military, graduate from high school, and start a family. Addul and Jesse discuss faith, resilience, the power of personal responsibility, and what inspired him to run for Congress. They touch on faith, forgiveness, anger, perfect peace, race, parenting, and much more!
