AI, BIM, and the Future of MEP Design

from Electrical Building Design Show · host Design Master Software

In our first season 5 audio episode of the Electrical Building Design Show, we’re joined by Kevin Lawson, PE, founder of Ripple, for a practical conversation on where automation in MEP actually stands today. We dive into:• HVAC automation and its real-world impact• AI workflows in Revit (what’s useful vs. what’s noise)• Why mechanical design often sets the direction for the entire building• What automation really means for the future of MEP designNo buzzwords, no overpromising, just an honest discussion about what’s working, what isn’t, and where things are headed.Join us if you’re interested in the intersection of engineering, automation, and design workflows that actually save time. The next episode will be released on February 16th.----------Register for a free webinar on best practices for creating single-line diagrams in Revit. https://www.designmaster.biz/webinar/register-pod.htmlTo download a free trial version of ElectroBIM, visit: https://www.designmaster.biz/revit/free-trial.html----------#MEPDesign #HVACDesign #MechanicalEngineering #HVAC #BIM #Revit #DesignAutomation

Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
