Alpine A110, Small, Fast and Beautiful

from Auto/Motive · host A/M

In this episode, I cover the Alpine A110. Developed in the late 1960s and raced throughout the early 1970s, this small but well-designed car would create a change in the rallying world, pushing lightweight smaller cars as the way to be faster and win more. The Alpine A110 was developed by a small team supported by Renault and would go on to win the Monte Carlo Rally twice and the very first season of the WRC proving to the world that light, well-handling cars were the formula for success.  Thank you for listening!     Sources:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXSN2Ph4LC4 https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a25725474/2019-alpine-a110-mid-engined-sports-car-drive/ https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a33461952/renault-alpine-a110-s-review/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_A110 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Cl%C3%A9on-Alu_engine https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/anything-goes-throwback-thursday/throwback-thursday-1966-alpine-a110-first-drive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobiles_Alpine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_8_and_10 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossflow_cylinder_head Music:  Too Cool by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4534-too-cool License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Monkeys Spinning Monkeys by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4071-monkeys-spinning-monkeys License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ District Four by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3662-district-four License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
