An Inspired Life: Ancient Sexuality & Modern Dating

from An Inspired Life · host An Inspired Life

In ancient times, sexuality was a divine act welcomed in temples, initiated by priestesses and celebrated openly. Our sexual energy was viewed as a powerful creative force - in fact, the very energy that gives birth to new life - and as such was treated with honour and reverence. However in modern dating and relationships, sexuality can be tied up with ownership, manipulation, shame and control. Unlike in ancient times, we aren't initiated into a way of sexuality that is holy and reverent - and as a result many of us are missing the important potency and spiritual growth that can come with sexual experiences. This week's guest is a Sexual/Spiritual Mentor and a woman who has had many lifetimes working as a Priestess (including in Ancient Egypt). Krystal Alexander-HIlle and I discuess what she's learnt about ancient practices through sacred texts and teachers, but also her own recalled memories from past lifetimes around how young adults were initiated into their own pleasure and sexuality, how it was openly and publicly celebrated, and how we can navigate the world of sexual empowerment in the modern age. Inspired takeaways include: · The creative power of our sexual energy and how to harness it · The contrast between ancient and modern sexuality and how we can bring the reverence from the ancient into the modern · Actual rituals and practices that the High Priestesses used to initiate young adults into their sexuality, and tips for ritualising the sacred practice of sex today · The difference between how sex serves men and women (understanding this is key in opposite-sex partnerships) · How we can be empowered sexual beings in the modern world of Tinder-style dating · The 'why' & 'how' of healthy communication during sexual practices to receive the pleasure we crave and deserve · How setting an intention before love-making is vital and potent Krystal and I also dove into a very candid discussion on open relationships, group love-making and maintaining a healthy sex life with young children in a secret, behind-the-scenes episode. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
