An Inspired Life: Fulfillment is an Inside Job

from An Inspired Life · host An Inspired Life

At some point, every one of us has wondered, “Am I enough?” “Is this all there is?” We might have the job, the business, the ideal partner, the big house… everything we thought we wanted… and we still wonder – why am I not happy? Why don’t I feel whole? What’s missing? Sherryn Bowers had everything she thought she wanted and needed, but with an engagement ring on the horizon she decided to pack it all up, leave everything she’d built up behind, and travel for years to different countries exploring the world and herself. Sherryn, now a guide for leaders who want to know they are loved and worthy just as they are, looked around the whole world for the happiness and fulfilment she craved. Until her most recent trip where everything changed for her – because she found freedom from within. In this real and raw interview, Sherryn shares how a change of mindset and perception about life can change the whole experience for us. Inspired takeaways include: • Freedom, love and acceptance is something that can only be found within yourself and not from the material things or the people around you • Why we are cautious of things that come ‘too easy’ and favour ‘hard work’ – and why we can give this up now • The power of being present and embracing each moment • How to find joy in the ‘small things’ in life – and how they add up to the big things • How to be conscious about filtering your thoughts because how you language each situation can change the meaning you assign to it • You are the creator of your own life and your experiences – you’re in the drivers’ seat, so take the wheel back If you found this podcast valuable, please ‘Subscribe’ in iTunes or in your Android Podcast app (we recommend Podcast Addict) so you receive every inspirational update. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
