Battery Charging Rates | EP 67

from Area 13 Ebikes - The Podcast · host Kyle Chittock

Hey, Everybody. Welcome back to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast, A place where you can learn about electric bikes. Every Tuesday, I release a new episode and it's always something about electric bikes, guaranteed. Absolutely nothing else is talked about in this podcast. Sometimes I have guests from other ebike companies on the show. I don't have one today, but I saw a comment online from someone that I wanted to address and it was about ebike charging rates. So if you want to learn about ebike charge rates, how fast can you charge an ebike? Why do they take so long to charge? Or why are they relatively quick to charge? How should you charge them? If you want to know answers to those things, then stick around once again. I'm Kyle, Chittock, the owner of Bolton Ebikes, and this is the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  How fast can you charge an ebike? How should you care for your battery? Why do ebike batteries take so long to charge?  The science behind batteries and charge cycles and why unrealistic charge cycle claims may need to be investigated further.  Kyle shares specific examples of batteries and the charging rate information behind the performance outcome most are striving for.  What is a C rate and how does that impact your battery charge rate.  What is next within the EV market when it comes to the potential of these batteries and where are people taking it? Now, before I wrap up this podcast episode, there's something really important I want to share. If you are listening to this podcast recorded on a usual Tuesday, I do record these ahead of time and release later. Release date that is usually a week or sometimes two, three weeks, maybe even a month ahead of schedule. Now, if you are one of the members of the Bolton Labs community, that's the nickname we give to our membership community on YouTube. That's nine 99 cents a month. You can actually get access to some of these podcast episodes earlier. That's something we're just kinda starting out kind of beta testing if you will. So it's not going to be every episode, but I'm gonna try and do as many as we can, but I've actually been doing these videos live for the members as an example, they are watching me right now live on YouTube.  And as you know, sometimes I reveal new products or new things that we are working on in some of these podcast episodes. So that's just another way to get ahead of the game and know what's coming before everyone else. And I will try to leave some time at the end of these podcast episodes that are running live to even answer some questions live. Right now I've got a few people that are chatting live on the YouTube channel as this is being recorded, So they can ask questions. The more questions I can answer for you guys, the better.  Thank you so much for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. If you're new, make sure to go to e bike podcast dot com. That's where you can sign up for the email list. We send out an email once a week, every Tuesday, when new episodes come out. So you know what the topic is, and if it's something you want to check out, That domain is e bike podcast dot com. We wanted something nice and easy to remember.
