These are individuals who hoist aboard the full and complete responsibility of providing all their requirements time immemorial. They have two options - stationary and mobile. The stationary ones are those who live in rural areas, have acreage, grow food, hunt, fish and truly live off grid. The mobile survivalist has the skills and equipment to live off grid when necessary, if society collapses. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system.
