In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing:

Bishop Lainie Petersen, who is the Presiding Bishop of The Open Rite. She was ordained to the priesthood in 1998 and was elevated to the episcopacy in 2009. She holds an M.Div. and M.T.S. degrees from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary as well as a Master of Library and Information Studies from Dominican University.

She offers a candle ministry and has set thousands of lights for people over the years. She has previously served as co-host for several radio shows and podcasts, including Talk Gnosis, Magic Radio Chicago, and Hard Lens Media. She is currently the theater correspondent for Playtime, which can be heard every Sunday afternoon on WCGO 1580AM in the Chicago area.

In this episode, we talk about several things including:

  • Her elevator speech? How she describes the Independent Sacramental Movement to someone with no knowledge of the movement.
  • We discuss her jurisdiction, The Open Rite. And the story behind its evolution.
  • We discuss her academic research on women in Pentecostalism.
  • She talks about her Candle Ministry and how it has grown.
  • We explore her challenges as a bishop.
  • And finally, she talks about her most memorable blessing within ministry.

This episode is sponsored in part by Convergent Streams: The Premier ISM Magazine.  If you haven't checked out Convergent Streams I encourage you to do so, why?  Because it's a great publication AND when you support Convergent Streams you are supporting a ministry within the Independent Sacramental Movement.  How can you go wrong with that?  Check it out at convergentstreams.org.  I like the print copy, but you can also get it in ebook format.

Real Social Dynamics Nick Kho Nick Kho I'm the CEO and Co-Founder of Real Social Dynamics, the world's largest dating coaching company. I grew up in Sacramento and then moved to the East Coast to go to boarding school in New Jersey at Lawrenceville School. Had great fun afterwards at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. And then spent a few years traveling the world with a small group of friends. Finally, we moved to Hollywood together into a mansion in the Hollywood Hills we named Project Hollywood Mansion. We transformed the former Dean Martin/Rat Pack Mansion into my office, where I build a global publishing and dating coaching company while simultaneously completing a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Southern California. We now run bootcamps worldwide in over 75 countries and 250 cities, and ship home study courses to every country in the world. I've moved out of the mansion, yet I still jetset around the world, and love living the amazing Las Vegas lifestyle (my favorite place I've ever lived). At Center of Praise Ministries you will discover a place of honor through real people who are dedicated to following Jesus Christ our Lord.Center of Praise Ministries was conceptualized by the divine directive given to our founder and visionary, Bishop Parnell M. The ministry has served to embrace people of all backgrounds with a message of unconditional love and abundant grace with core one goal: making disciples of Jesus Christ. Our VisionOur vision is to make full-circle disciples who embrace and respond to the nature of God. Because He's Here (omnipresent)... We Worship. Because He Knows (omniscient)... We Learn. Because He's Able (omnipotent)... We Serve. As disciples, we continue to embrace and respond to who God is, and we are continually transformed to become more and more like Christ.Worship, Learn and Ser
