BEING PEACEABLE

Scripture: Romans 12:18 "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Peace is not just the absence of conflict, but the presence of a Christ-like attitude that seeks harmony, forgiveness, and understanding. Paul’s instruction in Romans 12:18 encourages believers to take personal responsibility for promoting peace in every relationship. It may not always be possible to avoid tension, but we are called to do all we can to prevent and resolve it. Being peaceable means choosing humility over pride, grace over retaliation, and patience over anger. It means being slow to speak and quick to listen, willing to forgive even when it’s hard. While we can’t control others’ actions, we can control our own responses—with the help of the Holy Spirit. Living at peace also shows the world a glimpse of God’s kingdom. In a world filled with division and hostility, a peaceable heart stands out as a witness to the transforming love of Christ. Peace is not weakness; it is strength under the control of God’s Spirit. Today, ask yourself: Am I actively pursuing peace in my words and actions? Where might God be calling me to be a peacemaker today? Prayer: AlmightyFather, help me to be a person of peace. Teach me to respond with love and patience, even when I’m wronged. Empower me to forgive quickly and seek harmony with those around me. Let my life reflect Your peace that passes understanding.
