King Mosiah sends a group of people from.Zarahemla to go to the land of Lehi-Nephi to find out what had happened to their brethren which had previously left Zarahemla to go look for Lehi-Nephi. When this group of people found Lehi-Nephi their leader Ammon chose three of them (Amaleki, Helrm and Hem) to go with him down to the land of Nephi. They were captured and bound and imprisoned by the guards of the king and left two days. The king then met them to ask who they were. The king unloosed them as soon as he found out they were men from where his people had come from. The king was King Limhi, son of Noah, son of Zeniff, who had left Zarahemla to search for the land of their inheritance. King Limhi relates that are are enslaved by the Lamanites paying them heavy taxes. King Limhi requests help to be released from bondage and calls the people to the temple to share the information with them. Plates containing the record of the people of Limhi since they left the land of Zarahemla, was shown to Ammon. King Limhi asks Ammon if he can interpret languages. Ammon shares that he cannot but that he knew of Seer that could, who had interpreters to do so. The plates spoke of a land discovered that had large bodies of water and also was covered in bones and ruined buildings.
