Cathode Sun(from our New Wave / Post-Punk Compilation Album, 2016). Influences on this track: The Beatles, The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, Iggy Pop (The Passenger). This is a 2015 new wave / post punk compilation album featuring Junebug songs. It is mostly upbeat power chord-based guitar songs with synths and organs on the top. The songs are quite fast-paced, melodic and catchy. Our influences included bands / artists such as The Cars, Elvis Costello, The Jam, The Buzzcocks, Joy Division, The Police, The Ramones, The Stranglers, Blondie, The Clash, Talking Heads, Joe Jackson, The Knack, Nick Lowe, Gary Numan, The Undertones, The Teardrop Explodes. A cross-section of the New Wave / Post-punk music spectrum. The songs were recorded using musical instruments such as Vox Jaguar Organ, Hammond Organ, Philips Philicorda Organ, Mellotron Strings & Flutes, Korg Micropreset M500 Monosynth, Logan String Melody Synthesizer, Hohner Pianet T Electric Piano, EMU Vintage Keys Module, Various Soundfonts (used with a Creative Soundcard). Peavey Spectrum Organ Module, Vibraphone. Guitars / Basses: Fender USA Stratocaster, Tokai Telecaster (early 80's), Tokai Hardpuncher Bass (80's), Pearl Export 1985 Drum Kit. Guitar Amps: Fender Blues Deluxe, Musicman 1x12, 2x12, WEM Clubman, Dominator, Vox AC50, Bass Amp: Ampeg B100R. Recorder: Fostex D80, D160, Boss B1600CD. Mixers: Spirit FX8, FX16. Effects: Joe Meek Compressor VC3Q & C2, Boss Spring Reverb, Court 70's EQ.
