Er steht für den Pool als konkreten Ort und losen Vibe: Ein Becken voller kleiner Sehnsüchte, in dessen Oberfläche sich die großen Fragen unserer Welt spiegeln. Gleichzeitig gibt er eine Antwort auf die Frage, was das im Frühjahr 2021 überhaupt noch sein kann, ein Album. “POOL” ist, in radikaler Konsequenz, ein Pool an Liedern.Im Podcast "Wie das Wasser in den Pool kam" spricht Maeckes in jeder Folge mit einem anderen Gast, der mit ihm während der Album-Entstehungsphase in diesen Pool gesprungen ist oder ihm vielleicht auch wieder herausgeholfen hat. „Tua, sag mal wie du diese Snare an der Stelle findest und Maeckes sag mal, bist du wirklich Maeckes?" Der Deep-Dive in ein Album, dessen Grund man vom Beckenrand kaum erkennen kann. Pro Folge werden dabei ein bis zwei Songs des Albums mit u. a. Tristan Brusch, Äh, Dings (Produzent) oder Tua besprochen, aber auch andere äußerst spannende Künst
