Australia’s population is aging. It’s projected that in the next 30 years the proportion of people over 65 will reach 22 per cent. What this means is more and more middle-aged Australians (those typically 45 - 64 years old) will find themselves thrust into the role of managing the care for parents or elderly relatives.

But there’s a problem. Many of us shy away from the conversation about what those elderly years are going to look like – and the options for maintaining a quality way of life – until we’re forced to when a crisis hits.
