Daniel 5:7-28

V. The Feast of Belshazzar and the Fall of Babylon Daniel 5:1-31

A. The Feast — 5:1-4

B. The Writing on the Wall — 5:5-6

1. At that moment the desecration took place, writing appeared (v5)

2. The king’s face turned pale and his knees knocked (v6)

C. The Failure of the Wise Men — 5:7-9

1. ‘Interepret the writing and be rewarded’ (v7)

2. They could neither read nor interpret the words on the wall (v8)

3. The inablity of the wise men caused the king more alarm (v9)

D. The Advice of the Queen — 5:10-12

1. The kings mother entered and said “Don’t be alarmed” (v10)

2. She reminded him of what Daniel did for Nebuchadnezzer (v11)

3. Summon Daniel and he will interpret the dream (v12)

1. Belshazzar didn’t know Daniel personally and had to verify (v13)
