Darius Kasparaitis on The Cam & Strick Podcast

from The Cam & Strick Podcast · host Darius Kasparaitis

When you think about the most devastating hitters in the history of the NHL, you best have Darius Kasparaitis near the top of the list. This guy was an animal on skates, who would absolutely destroy you if given the opportunity. The guy you either love or hate, or is it the guy you love to hate? Either way, "Kaspar" was a brand name in the league throughout the 1990s and early portion of the 2000s. This guy moved from Lithuania to Russia at the age of 14 to pursue a hockey career. He saw and experienced things at that age that most people don't experience in a lifetime. Once hated in Pittsburgh, he became one of the most popular Penguin players of his era. He'd play in 4 Olympic games and become Russia's all-time leader in Olympic games played. He's in the Russia Hockey Hall of Fame and loves the game of hockey as much as any player we've had on the Cam and Strick Podcast. From wild spending sprees off the ice to laying out Eric Lindros, to his relationship with Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr, trust us, we cover everything and then some in this conversation. On the ice, this "Kaspar" was no friendly ghost.
