Deprescribing #2 Power of the Mind

from Deprescribing Pharmacist · host Dr Leyla Ali

A peace pilgrim once said, “If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” Our minds are more powerful than most of us realize. Our thoughts, beliefs, and our words have more power in creating our life than most of us realize. The so-called experts and doctors will fill our minds with limiting beliefs about what is possible with our health. Many have been told their health condition is “incurable” when they are declaring that from their limited perspective, and actually never studied what’s possible in the world of health and healing. Drug companies know how powerful our minds are, and they use that information to make us feel like we need their products to be healthy, or that their pharmaceutical drug is the answer we’ve been searching for. Once we become aware of the power of our own minds, and we learn to pay attention to our own thoughts and beliefs, we can make changes to use our minds in more empowering and healing ways. ********************************************************************************************* We are doing a weekly Deprescribing class to help people find better solutions for their health. Gildersleeve, a regular character from the radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly. The character was introduced in the October 3, 1939, episode (number 216) of that series. Actor Harold Peary had played a similarly named character, Dr. Gildersleeve, on earlier episodes. The Great Gildersleeve enjoyed its greatest popularity in the 1940s.The show was set in Summerfield, Ohio, and followed the life of Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve, a retired pharmacist who was now the water commissioner of Summerfield. Gildersleeve was a pompous and opinionated man, but he was also kind-hearted and well-meaning.
