Techweek #E2S4: Timeline Compression — Why Are We All Mentally Tired?

from Tech-week · host Kamran Hasilovich

Welcome back, Tech-week listeners!   This is our new episode 2, in season 4, on air. Hope you enjoyed our last episode. Today, we have a very relatable topic that we decided to discuss with you, and it is about the term called Timeline Compression, how the accelerated speed of this period that we are living in is taking its mental toll on us, and what to do about it. How to adapt to the pace of the modern age? Every day, something new happens; one day, economic disruptions, another day, it is a conflict somewhere. It feels like we are not able to catch up with anything anymore. We feel the pressure to constantly improve ourselves at work, and something new becomes obsolete in weeks. Trends change very fast, values are getting less and less relevant, and our attention spans are shortening even further. Here, we call the phenomenon Timeline compression. It is the notion or the feeling that time itself is accelerating, and our minds are not capable of digesting it. Have a listen and let's learn what the reasons behind it are, how our brains evolved to thrive in slower environments, and what can be done about it.As Tech-week, to step together with us towards the healthy future that we believe in on this path of enlightenment, don't forget to support us, share what you listen to with your friends, your circle, or on social media, so that they can benefit from these discussions.
